River Boy my goat, fly high...sounds and music absolute immersion. to that I am committed to finish this game (i have NOT finished it at all). Time to game game.

Once again, I wish Steam had a "Maybe" option for reviews. It doesn't feel right saying "Not Recommended," because this game is built around a very cool concept and is beautiful artistically, with stunning landscape elements and a surprising amount of customization options for your personal appearance and the appearance of your followers. It has an intriguing art style similar to Don't Starve or Oxygen Not Included. It really seems like a game that has had some high quality development and is very polished. I watched a few videos about this game before buying it, but for some reason I still came away with the idea that it would have more of an RPG element to it than it does. I thought I would be able to establish and grow a personal cult and feel the satisfaction of improving it, similar to upgrading your base of operations and collecting NPCs for it like in RPG farm/village sim type games, but Cult of the Lamb is absolutely not that kind of game. The game is primarily a hack and slash roguelike, which I don't really care for but would tolerate for RPG elements. I didn't get the warm and fuzzy feeling from developing my cult that I wanted. The game was just me going into procedurally generated maps to hit every enemy in each square of the map to get coins and materials, and then coming back to my personal cult map square to find ways to buff myself for more fights. The NPCs that I recruited acted more like a number than a personality you could bond with. The game just isn't for me, but if you like roguelikes, I think you'll like it.

It's surprising how much I love this game even though at first glance I thought it would be some boring multiplayer online game, turns out everything about the game is actually incredibly fun and doesn't bore you at all.

Endgame content took me 50 out of 70 hours People who like casual games - u should play it, but i wouldn't recommend it to complete on 100% achievements. Half of them is just a simple completion of the game, and half - a patient and long torture. The developers tried to mix Forager and Roguelikes. And they did good. I would say 4/5 cuz endgame content took all my nerves on achievement "Slayer of Souls", i tried to beat all bossrushes do not do it if u can. p.s. rest in peace River Boy

The game felt repetitive about halfway through and never recovered. The cult management was pretty headless, like there's no real reason I wanted to succeed or goal to strive for, and using rituals semi-regularly made it impossible to fail. The combat sections are...okay. They're also pretty simple and the randomized elements suffer from having so many "meh" and outright useless options that I got stuck with. When I reached the ending and Mr. DLC arrived to let me know all the dungeons had reset and I'd just be doing the entire game again, I bailed. The graphics and music are excellent, and Knucklebones is a genuinely interesting dice game. I see why people like this one but it just wasn't for me.

RIP River boy, your music helped get me through a lot of tough points in my mental health and helped make experiencing this game way more enjoyable than it would have been without it. My condolences to both his family and the people at Massive Monster who worked alongside him

Great game, love how you can sacrifice the elderly simply because they stopped working. Hate that you can't sacrifice the children but it's a good game.

Truly an Amazing and Unique experience, not just in gameplay but also in the atmosphere and music. Rest In Peace to River Boy.

Rest in peace River Boy... He really added so much into this game, his OST for this game was 1 of 2 main reasons I started playing this. His music added so much life to this game. Thank you so much.

The love I have for this game, despite not playing much recently, is vast and hard to put into words. Rest in peace Narayana Johnson/River Boy. You were one of my favorite artists, and thank you and everyone else for making this game so beautiful.
