I kinda like it... It's one of those games that saddles you with tons of tedious busy work, and the upgrades and rewards are there to remove the necessity of having to grind away at some of those tedious parts. Parts are fun, parts are repetitive. The graphics and polish are really great. It sure does seems to like having you make your followers eat poop a lot.

Sheep ruling a bunch of degenerates in a forest in their crusade against the heretics of the old faith?
Count me in!
It's a good roguelike that has a calm townbuilding part, play with decorations, and manage a group of rumbly stomachs using the flesh of your enemies (or crops stolen from them).
Master the combat and upgrade your temples, talk with some properly written critters and eldritch beings, explore a world of furry religion, and the best part, free updates. Not just some bugfixes but proper content expansions introducing more mechanics, options, and unbelievers to slaughter.
Overall a really good game despite a little bit of annoying grind

Cult of the Lamb is a challenging yet fun game to play! You can build up your cult and defeat a TON of enemies along the way. And If I ever get tired of working I can just force my people to dance around my camp butt naked and still achieve happiness. Love it :)

I don't usually leave reviews for games anymore these days, but Cult of the Lamb has been one of the most enjoyable experiences with my partner that I've ever had in a video game. I've played over 300+ games on steam alone and I am not easily impressed.
But, Cult of the Lamb has blown me away in every aspect. I strongly recommend this amazing game!

It is a fine game to kill some time, but overall it suffers from very shallow mechanics. Base building revolves around collecting very few resources and levelling up the same buildings. Cult management means to perform the same rituals over and over. However, the individual cult members are NPCs without any personality / differentiating traits. The dungeoning / rogue-like part might be one of the most boring rogue-likes I have played. There is very little variety across runs. The weapon currently held determines your playstyle, since there are no items that change any aspect of the current weapon. This game tries to accomplish too many things, as a result of which it falls short on all of them.

I'm bored. The game has an amazing art style and presentation, but both the dungeons and cult building/upkeep are shallow and boring.
Good game, but not for me.

I wanted to give this game a review since I 100%'ed it, but never got round to it lol
So here it is
The game greatly improved since it came out:

The proper endgame was added, so you have have an actual insentive to keep on playing

You can do much more things in the cult now and some annoying quests were removed

Also they removed the "keep going forever" in the normal game which is good
(there was really no point in it, since you'd always try come back to the cult as fast as you can because the cultist start whining about everything)
((Or at least the game isn't showing this feature in your face anymore? It's been a while since I played it xD))
//This ^ is for those people who played the game on release just like me and found the game really dry
But overall, if you are looking for a complex roguelike with deep combat mechanics - this game isn't for you.
Combat is quite simple and honestly not much variety in between.
It's mostly you having fun building, expanding your cult and goofing around with your cultists.
The music and artstyle are great too!
Local Coop is fun too, but I kinda wish there was a proper online coop if both people have the game, but oh well xD
Anyways, I do recommend this game! It was fun completing it

The dream sim for everyone who ever wanted to be a cult leader. You can run your cult as you like.
The art is super cute but the ideology behind the game is super dark. Play this and explore your inner darkness.
Must TRY - 10/10

Most immersive cult simulator ever made. I may have just discovered my natural talent for manipulation. I mean, I can literally gaslight my followers into thinking they’re not unhappy, just ungrateful.
At this point, I’m starting to question my own sanity. LOL, Either way, you should buy this game before I make you my next recruit!

Okay, so I went into Cult of the Lamb expecting some cute, mindless dungeon crawling. What I got was a surprisingly deep and emotionally engaging experience. Yes, it's adorable – the art style is fantastic, the little lamb protagonist is charming, and the followers are undeniably cute. The dungeon crawling is fun, challenging enough to be engaging without being frustrating. I actually really enjoyed the combat; it's simple but effective, and finding new weapons and abilities kept me coming back for more.
But the real hook? The cult management. I'm not gonna lie, I got way too attached to my followers. I named them all, I built them the best houses, I made sure they were always fed and happy. And then...I sacrificed some of them to eldritch gods. It was necessary for the greater good of the cult, of course, but it still felt...bad. The game cleverly plays on that emotional tug-of-war, making you care about your followers even as you're making difficult choices that affect their fate.
The strategic element of managing resources, keeping morale high, and balancing the needs of your cult with the demands of dungeon crawling was surprisingly intricate and rewarding. I found myself constantly tweaking my strategies, trying to optimize everything for maximum cult growth and happiness. It's a surprisingly addictive loop.
While the repetitive nature of the dungeon runs might bore some players after a while, the constant upgrades and the ever-evolving needs of my cult kept me hooked. Overall, Cult of the Lamb exceeded my expectations. It's a unique blend of cute and creepy, strategic and emotional. Highly recommended, but be prepared for some unexpected feelings along the way.
