Even after doing the tutorials, this game is difficult to understand what's going on and what to do. Even the tutorials themselves were confusing. It's very slow game play, and you don't get resources fast enough to do what they are telling you to do in the campaign. You would be better off playing World of Warships, Uboat, or Silent Hunter IMO.

This game takes some time to learn the controls and mechanics, but once you do it's good fun. Some parts of the game are tedious, frustrating, and boring, namely ant-submarine warfare. However, I find the rest of the game addictive, and I love the historical background and attention to detail. Furthermore, there are lots of good mods for this game, which I have yet to try, but which I imagine add lots of replay.

Id like to see more or a larger campaign, maybe starting on Dec.7th. 1941 and running till the end of the war. and not have to download a third party mod to play as such. If as the dev, this is all you have to offer, then there is no way i would recommend this game to anybody.

An enjoyable game. Unfortunately, it was left in its current state for whatever reason. Not as polished as it could be, but fun. I do with they had continued to make content for the game, as additional native scenarios that do not require mods would have been lovely.

Quite fun game overall when it comes to the naval combat, but the friendly aircraft ai is less than competent. AI aircraft are actually horrific I have to tab out during ai engagements to not lose my sanity, not to mention the fact I get constantly bogged down by air raids on my bases every 5 seconds which makes the campaign not worth playing for me. FYI currently using atlantic campaign because I'm not interested in the pacific war, tried editing some files the devs mentioned to edit on some forum to reduce land-based ai but didn't help. edit: my gunnery crew must be blind and drunk because I'm sure it's not that hard to hit a battleship 3km away

I finally took the plunge with this when I discovered there was a major mod covering the Atlantic, as I'm a big fan of Killerfish's turn-based Atlantic Fleet. The latter has wider, more historical campaign options. But having been brought up on Airfix 1/600 warship kits and the old TV shows on famous WW2 ships and their battles, and later, loved the classic Fighting Steel (which had no land, planes, or subs but still, nailed surface action), I'm mainly interested in the included single battles. Which have considerable replayability and can be added to, using the straightforward custom battle builder. So this is just what I'm after. I very much like what I'm seeing - lots of great WW2 ship, sub and aircraft models, good visual effects, a decent command interface, good tutorial missions and high production values. The RTS-style campaigns (stock and mods) look less to my liking but they're not what I'm here for. Definitely recommended.

Half of your playtime is spent battling submarines that are impossible to detect with sonar and have torpedoes that detonate no matter what angle they hit at. The other half is spent sitting there and waiting for the timer to leave the combat area because the AI sent a single squad of zeros to MG your ships over and over again.

Major letdown of a game, had a lot of potential but is now abandonware, and the mechanics that are here are to unfair or unfun to be enjoyable, ai cheats and still can't even put up a fight with all the cheating, dont buy, dont support the devs that abandoned their game

This game had So Much Potential! Seems like they ran out of money at 75% of the build and abandoned it. So much is left unfinished. There is no Complete Pacific Campaign. Later they release a full Atlantic Campaign which just looks like they paid for a modder's Atlantic Campaign (which is free) and charge 10 bux for this... My BIG est complaint on this game is that you have zero idea what possible purchases you can make at a base (the game is Extremely Bizarre in this regard.... you do not have existing historical forces, you can PURCHASE them at bases... but they dont tell you WHERE? you have to hunt and peck around your bases to figure out from a giant menu of ship classes (anyone know off the top what : AMC, TR, MR, MC, are? well you better learn QUICK or you will be crushed. Any idea what the POINT of this game is? Well you better learn quick that fuel supply is NON-EXISTENT in the game, BUT you better resupply your key bases with CARGO, FUEL, and EQUIPMENT (SO, SO, SO important the game divided those up... NOT!!!) and learn the sub-menu you missed when a cargo ship left port that you needed to LOAD those... or your EFFFED. Then there's the SUBTLE piss-offs.... AI has incredible accuracy with shells and depth charges. AI always spots you first. AI does really crazy non-historical moves like invading BREST (anyone hear of DIEPPE?? We got SLAUGHTERED by a few German home defense units? Yet this game seems to think its a piece of cake in 1940???) You set up an iron-clad defense around Guadacanal, yet SOMEHOW the Legend American AI can sneak an entire landing force in and capture it under your nose???? Silly Silly Silly.
