A good little hollow knight clone romp. Writing doesn't quite hit for me and I'm certainly not putting in the effort for the no-heal achievement, but it was fun. If you're new to the genre, I think this would be a fun and cheap way to get your feet wet.

Almost gave up after the first hour: I felt a bit lost, the movement was slow and fighting the same enemies over and over again got boring, I'm glad I stuck with it, though! Once you get a few upgrades under your belt, moving around gets a lot more enjoyable! The controls are tight, and every boss fight puts on a fair challenge. It's clearly inspired by "Hollow Knight" (so if you somehow haven't played that, change this first!) and hardly brings anything new to the genre, but it's 8-10 hours of solid fun nonetheless. Considering this was put together by a single (!) dev, it's really impressive! And, just in case anybody else is as stupid as me: I only realized at the end of the game that you can
hit the perch station to retrieve your stored spare parts again... (if e.g. you need some to repair yourself).
I loved this game. Great controls, a shorter, tighter Hollow Knight. Love the way stamina is implemented. I'd be here for a sequel in a second.

I'm not the biggest fan of how spongy your character is. In my original playthrough, you could tank just about every source of damage without really giving the enemies much thought at all. This changed so much in corrupt mode. Corrupt mode is a "die in one hit mode", so it actively forces you to understand enemy patterns and the game's obstacles. For me, it made my experience of the game way more enjoyable and I am very glad it is in here. Genuinely, this mode made me love the game, whereas I was very indifferent before.

Nice little metroidvania, on the short side of things. Grab on sale and have fun!

Amazing exploration elements that make up for a more rudimentary combat system. Quick fun game that kept my attention for the entire story.

A small, pleasant in every way metroidvania. Pretty high-quality, varied in gameplay, with interesting lore. Not much to add. I hope the developer has plans for another, more ambitious project.

Played 6 hours. Soundtrack was ambient - as in barely noticible, which is a detriment because the gameplay is very bare bones for the first couple of hours. Feels like they tried to make Hollow Knight, but lacks the presentation to make up for Hollow Knight's bare-bones navigation and movement tech. Didn't end up finishing the game. Turned off the music partway in and turned on my own music, which made things bearable for a while. The game has a problem making a natural flow of navigation around the game world, which led me to scramble around for an hour before finding the hookshot. Ended the game looking for an ability which would obviously let me phase through walls, as I found plenty of roadblocks that I wouldn't be able to pass without such an ability, but after looking up a guide, found that it was in an area I'd tried to get to from a couple of different locations that were all blocked by said roadblocks, with one route in I couldn't manage to find (or more likely overlooked because the map is barebones.) Was completely convinced that the powerup was in one of the areas where the map is jammed, because why wouldn't it be. If you are interested in this game and haven't played Hollow Knight, play Hollow Knight. If you are interested in this game and have played Hollow Knight, congratulations, you've played this game, but better. If this review makes a difference for you, pass this one up.
