Pumpkin Jack is a fun and short platformer with a "cartoonishly scary" aesthetic similar to that of Medevil. Never at any point did I feel the game was unfair or unplayable, though there were a few moments where a poor perspective tripped me up. The soundtrack consists of tracks that sound appropriately "whimsically spooky," as well as "whimsically spooky" renditions of classic musical pieces such as "Ride of the Valkyries" and "Final with Horse Run." If you have some extra money and looking for a quick and relatively easy game, there's a good chance that Pumpkin Jack will meet your criteria.

It is a very well made game. It reminds me of old Spyro / Crash games. Simple and fun. I really enjoyed the level design and the visual art.
Only think I would tone down the intensity of the lights when HDR is enabled

Pumpkin Jack is a fun twist on the tale of the Pumpkin King, brought back to life to doom the world into destruction.
I won't necessarily call it a souls like even though the combat reminds me of it, but I'd more accurately call it an action platformer. The game had a fun battle system that, while not the most in-depth and exciting, allowed for a fun experience slashing through whatever stood in my way. It's a rather short experience, only 5 hours for me to 100% complete it after missing a collectible or two on some of the levels and having to back track, and there's only 6 levels in total, each of them ranging from about 15-35 minutes depending on if you look really hard to get all the collectibles.
I would recommend it at full price, I think it was good enough to confidently say that anyone would enjoy it for what it is, not to mention the dialogue is actually well-written and the plot was simple yet motivating to see through to the end.

very cool game, the story is quite entertaining, half hack and slash, half platformer, balance good enough to make it fun! worth it all the way!

A competent, fun, but short, and not too difficult hack-and-slash / 3D platformer hybrid. The minigames add a nice variety to the title. The levels are colorful and cleverly designed. The boss encounters are engaging, and the unlockable weapons allow for different gameplay styles. Recommended!

This game is incredibly high quality! The music, the sound effects, the visual, the animation, the character controls, the story and theme, everything felt polished and I could feel the developers' passion for their game. When I played this game, I had the same feeling I had when I played Banjo Kazooie back when I was 8 years old. I recommend it for anyone that like platformer games.

It's fine, not really challenging, a tad bit too easy, but I've quite enjoyed it.
Wouldn't buy it at full price tho.

I wish steam had a "Meh" vote
+ MediEvil vibe, if you miss that game, this has some of that magic and gameplay
+ Visuals are nice, fairy tale-y
+ Puzzles are not hard, exploration and 100% is not a chore and usually very simple to do
+ Short, 6 chapters with unique locations
+ Some variety in weapons
+ Skippable dialogues/cutscenes
+ Different costumes
- It's a platformer, and unfortunately it sucks at platforming the most. Controls are atrocious, you will fall off the map a lot due to camera angles and the scuffed jumping in general
- A lot of re-used mini-games and prolonging them for far too long
- Pumpkin puzzles are a pain and were not fun to do (especially the last one because you can't control the camera and you need to be precise and do it fast, super annoying, don't know how it got to the final build), I did like the first musical puzzle and the first gravestone pizzle though
- Combat is very basic and scuffed, once you hit something you become extremely slow, plus you can't always tell when your hit is finished and when you can dodge/evaid
- Story is just there to skip through
- You can get a seizure in the last chapter, in the first portaling through the space fly
Worth on a 50-75% discount, but you won't miss much if you decide to skip this one

Incredible platformer with incredible ray tracing. Some of the gimmicks absolutely suck (I don't wanna see any more gravestones for a while) but most of the primary gameplay is very engaging. Decent combat too!
