Snack is an incredibly comfy game imo. It does a lot right in the animal crossing / farm sim genre.
It has a charming 3D with 2D sprite artstyle (think paper mario or Bug Fable) and goodness gracious me the conversation dialogue sprites are gorgeous, id have them on enamel pins if i could.
The gameplay is what you'd expect from the genre, but it does get interesting in how tool upgrades happen. Instead of your typical copper -> iron - gold -> etc etc, it uses gemstones which can be swapped out to tailor tools to how you want them. (For instance I quite like going fast, and so i put 4 aquamarine on my sword for maximum speed).
Decoration is a fairly large aspect of the game and i think this is one of snacko's strongest aspects. With the ability to decorate near everywhere on the island, there's a lot of inspiration to be had, especially when you add a dyeing system on top of it. This level of freedom is guided nicely by quests which have personally helped me get my gears spinning.
Overall, definitely keep your eye on this one. I love it and will definitely be playing it in my down time after work and MH:Wilds (it comes out tonight!)

Seems promising but too empty and buggy to feel ready yet especially for the current price tag.

I found this game by accident and figured why not try out the demo. After 2 hours in the demo I just had to buy it. In just a couple days I've put in nearly 20 hours and absolutely love it. It has a Stardew mixed with animal crossing vibe, but it's entirely it's own thing. Early access but it feels complete and polished. The content doesn't feel like it's lacking and there's always something to be doing.
The building is well implemented. The farming is well done. The platforming sections are short and fun, not too challenging until you try to beat the best times. The characters are so cute and each one is so different and unique. And the devs are pretty receptive to peoples suggestions. I've seen people suggest something in their discord and they've immediately hopped on and been like, "good idea, I'm gonna work on that right now."
I haven't enjoyed a farming game this much since my first Stardew play through. I could not recommend this game more and can't wait for the full release

I love this game so FREAKING much!
The game is very cozy and stress free. The wiki is very help and can provide a lot of help with what resources you have to gather and how to gather them. My main issues with this game are just due to it being in early access. I have fallen through the map before as well have not had new things from current updates on saves started before the update released. Overall the game itself outshines these issues with many characters, it's helpful UI, convenience tools, witty descriptions and dialogue, constant updates, and so much more! Definitely worth giving a try if you loved animal crossing and stardew!
