They understand the concept of a fun game. It's obvious they know what they are doing. I stopped playing to comment. Give them more money for money projects.

Although average on the roguelike aspect, this game has a phenomenal and meaty combat that surpasses the combat of other games in the genre, including Hades. Would recommend for anyone looking for a replayable and skill-rewarding isometric action game.

Overall a decent game that challenges you in a good way, gameplay wise and mechanically. However, there are some very frustrating things about this game. Sure, it might be a skill issue, but I think it's still important for others to know about these little annoyances before they buy the game.
For one, certain attack wind-up animations happen outside your field of fiew, so there is literally no way for you to doge or parry them.
Second, sometimes enemy attack indicators overlap with your own attack animations, making the indicators almost indistringuishable, resulting in you being hit.
Another point, each run gives you so little resources at the end, that it almost feels like there is no progression. I can understand that slow progression might be a gameplay feature. But paired with so many little annoying things, it really makes the game unenjoyable to play longtime.
I'm only 3 hours in and this has been one of the games I regret buying the most.

Curse of the Dead Gods is endless fun. Great combat mechanics, weapon combinations, sound, graphics, and a eerily balanced RNG aspect that will keep you up all night trying to make it out of the temple. This game reminds me of a mixture of Dead Cells, Diablo, and Hades. If you are a fan of these games or other action-roguelikes, you should definitely pick this game up.

A less fun version of Hades with parry and dodging, and everything costs stamina which makes the gameplay feel really sluggish at times.
The game does not have enough content to get those grindy achievements, props to whoever managed to unlock them.
Still fun though

It's a souls roguelike. My biggest criticisms are that the character building options are quite limited (there are only a few viable builds for the final temple), starting with high weapon rarity is important for end game which means you gotta grind and the final boss on standard difficulty was beaten by 7% of the players on steam. Good game to buy on sale but it's far from perfect.
update: I only beat the final boss on standard because of RNG. It took very little skill and a some planning but my starting weapons were incredibly op which snowballed into picking up an op two handed weapon. I would have had to willfully start sabotaging my run after a certain point because of how lucky I got which I think is rather cheap for a game that emphasizes parry and dodge as core combat mechanics. Since the starting weapon quality is so important to having a good start to a run, you can just start a run and then quit when you don't like your weapon selection which diminishes the skill based aspects of the game. I still think the game is worth picking up on sale but my experience has been very hot/cold over my 30 hours of playtime.

It's a good game but compared to Hades, its not in the same league. Still enjoyable and it scratches that action roguelike itch I had.

Played all the difficulty levels here, and I really like this game, and would recommend it to anyone who wants to play a good roguelike.
Game has a really nice learning curve with it slowly introducing every new challenge, which allows the player to learn about a dozen of enemies, and then tries to combine all that knowledge together, with the player being able to no-hit practically everything by the end.
Bosses are mostly simple, like 3-4 attacks, with some exceptions, but its not a negative as you HAVE to learn them and do multiple in a long run, with some quite tight timings on parries, or drawing out the bosses by mostly avoiding them with dodges.
But if the challenge is a bit too much, there's always the "Assist Mode" that can help with balancing out some tougher elements.
Game has a lot of lore, that's mostly hidden from the player in the logs, explaining every enemy and boss, where I was pretty dissapointed with the True End of the game, until reading that final log, which made it wayyy more satisfying than I could've expected.
Overall game's really nice, it has a bit too much RNG with the Weapon stats, Artifacts and Offering bonuses, but that's a small problem in a game that I'd call a gem for its genre.

Overall I really liked this game. The main draw to this game is that over the course of a run you will gain curses that negatively affect your run. However these curses aren't too bad and if the curse has a huge draw back like enemies being hidden in darkness until they get close to you then you will also deal 20% more damage in the dark. This makes it to where curses are punishing but not too bad unless you get the final curse which punishes you hard. Once you get a grasp of when to take on curses to gain buffs and better equipment then this game gets very fun as you're in a constant balancing act of balancing risk and reward. Also the fighting feels very smooth with the game rewarding you for doing perfect dodges and parries by giving you stamina back to continue attacking the enemies. The only complaint I have with the game is that some of the bosses are unfun. Mainly because the spam projectiles making it very hard to hit them at times, but other than that I thought the game was very fun.
