As an indie developer, I want to find a simple game engine which has a lot of potential. At the first time, I thought GACK is just what I needed. However, after several tests, I found this software is completely out-dated. It's a waste of money to buy it.
Cons:
-The user manual is old. Some screen buttons are not correspond to manual.
-The action game mode is running in a 1280x960 window. But the shooting game mode only supports 600x900 resolution. You can't toggle fullscreen.
-You can't change the default keys.
-When I tried to publish my test game, an error message appeared. It said:
[Connection error]
For file exchange, please start Wifi-Sync on the tablet. Enable Wifi. Share the same network. Error: -1: broadcast timeout.

To say I didn't spend long using this piece of software is a bit of an understatement. Minutes rather than hours. But trust me when I say this was more than enough to ask for a refund. I wasn't expect a world beater, but this ?!
- You can't go full screen, so you have to create a game within a small window.
- When importing your own sprites, you can't specify your own folders, eg. a folder on desktop.
- Couldn't see a way to import own sounds.
- The menu system is very basic and because you can't expand to full screen, is really cramped.
- Clicked to import a sprite from one of the built in demos and it crashed to desktop !
I'm sure there's workarounds, eg. put your sprites in the folders it does recognise, but it all felt like software written in about 1987.
Too expensive for what there is, and needs some serious updates and fixes for me to come back for another look.
