The game's action restoration is extremely high, and it can be called a benchmark for manga-adapted games. The number of characters on the screen has increased significantly compared with the previous work, and the sense of mowing grass is full. Basically, more than 1,500 enemies can be defeated in one battle, and the combat fluency is the best in the series

This is for the one piece fans that just wanna go crazy and take out as much people as possible and with style. if you ever played a dynasty warrior game before its pretty much the same thing but one piece themed. the story goes from alabasta all the way to wano with some parts cut out because lets be real. if you played the one previous to it you've played them all.the gameplay is fun but it can get repetitive fast. you can choose a good amount of characters from the series. they all feel unique in their own way and it feels so satisfying when you hit a special move and take out a group of enemies. all in all if you like one piece and dynasty warriors then i highly recommend this game. Especially with a friend. 7/10 fun for a while but gets repetitive fast

One Piece Pirate Warriors 4 is a solid entry in the series, highly recommend buying this game on sale. I was honestly surprised at how fun this game was. I expected it'd be another poor attempt at an anime adaptation, but clearly they actually put the work in. Characters are super well done, and it does a good job of giving brief summaries of each of the arcs from the anime/manga. Something that I love - Basically EVERY building is destroyable. It feels so satisfying. The leveling up system doesn't feel like an endless grind like most "Dynasty warriors" Type games do. The achievements don't take too long to get, which is a breathe of fresh air for this genre. And on top of that, items are pretty easy to farm out. All in all, a really good game if you're into beating up 1000's of soldiers and facing your favorite anime characters!

nothing special. fun, mindless button-mashing scratches a primal itch in my monkey brain, but it's nothing more than that. if you're not already an absolute diehard one piece fan, don't get it

ONE PIECE: PIRATE WARRIORS 4 is a high-octane celebration of Eiichiro Oda’s beloved pirate saga, blending the narrative scope of One Piece with the bombastic gameplay of Koei Tecmo’s Musou formula. Developed by Omega Force and published by Bandai Namco, the game brings together fan-favorite characters, massive battles, and over-the-top combat in a faithful yet stylized adaptation of the anime’s sprawling world. While it doesn’t deviate far from the Musou playbook—where players mow down thousands of enemies in a single mission—it captures the spirit and scale of One Piece with an enthusiasm that makes it one of the strongest entries in the Pirate Warriors series. At the heart of Pirate Warriors 4 is its robust combat system, which lets players take control of over 40 characters from across the series, including staples like Luffy, Zoro, Nami, and Sanji, as well as newer additions like Carrot, Katakuri, and Kaido. Each character has a unique playstyle, tied closely to their Devil Fruit powers or Haki abilities, and the game introduces aerial combos and transformation mechanics that add more dynamism and flair to battles. Whether you're smashing enemies with Luffy’s Gear Fourth or unleashing Marco’s phoenix flames in midair, the combat is a chaotic ballet of destruction that never loses momentum. The game’s story mode, known as “Dramatic Log,” covers major arcs from the One Piece saga, from Alabasta and Enies Lobby to Marineford and Whole Cake Island. Notably, it also features an original take on the Wano arc—created before the anime completed that storyline—which offers a “what-if” narrative conclusion. While this creative liberty may disappoint purists who want a scene-by-scene retelling, it serves the game’s pacing well and allows for a satisfying, if non-canonical, climax. Cutscenes blend in-engine models with stylish anime-inspired cinematics, hitting the right emotional beats and giving weight to major moments like Ace’s fate or the Straw Hats’ reunions. Structurally, Pirate Warriors 4 sticks to the genre’s tried-and-true formula: players take on massive maps, capture territories, defeat enemy commanders, and trigger cinematic boss battles. What sets this installment apart is how it integrates environmental destruction and verticality. Buildings crumble under powerful attacks, enemies are launched sky-high, and some levels include multi-layered objectives that keep things from becoming too monotonous. These additions don’t completely reinvent the wheel, but they inject enough freshness to sustain long play sessions. In terms of content, the game is generous. Beyond the main story, there’s Free Log mode to replay missions with any character, and a Treasure Log filled with unique challenges and escalating difficulty. Progression comes through skill trees and collectible coins that improve stats and unlock new moves, providing a satisfying upgrade loop. With DLC packs adding even more characters and missions—including fan-favorites like Yamato and Oden—the game’s roster continues to expand, offering more variety and replayability for dedicated players. Visually, Pirate Warriors 4 nails the anime aesthetic while maintaining solid performance across platforms. The cel-shaded character models are vibrant and expressive, and the explosive effects during combat lend each fight a sense of kinetic energy. While the environments can sometimes feel flat or repetitive, the action is so fast-paced that it rarely becomes a distraction. The soundtrack, a mix of high-energy rock and orchestral cues, complements the chaos perfectly, and the Japanese voice cast—featuring the original anime actors—delivers enthusiastic and authentic performances. That said, the game isn’t without flaws. Enemy AI can be brain-dead at times, with foes standing around waiting to be destroyed en masse. Repetitiveness, a common critique of Musou games, still lingers despite efforts to diversify mission objectives. Additionally, the original Wano arc conclusion may feel jarring for fans closely following the canon. Nonetheless, these issues are more genre conventions than outright failings, and for players who accept the Musou structure, they’re unlikely to be deal-breakers. In the end, ONE PIECE: PIRATE WARRIORS 4 delivers exactly what it promises: thrilling, over-the-top action rooted in one of anime’s most beloved franchises. It’s a joyful power fantasy for One Piece fans, letting you live out the wildest battles and most emotional arcs with a sense of scale the anime itself often only hints at. While it may not convert Musou skeptics, it stands as a love letter to the Straw Hat crew and their journey, making it a must-play for any fan who’s ever dreamed of unleashing Gear Fourth in the middle of a thousand-strong battlefield.
