Grim Tales 6: The Vengeance
(っ^▿^)۶🍸Recommend the game to those who love the same genre 🍺٩(˘◡˘ )
I am seriously loving the visuals!!
The opening and main menu art style are just stunning. The opening of the game where James asked for Anna's help with the police beside him was refreshing. This was my first time playing this game series that showcase Anna as a detective even though the story still revolves around her family affairs (I actually do love the part that this is a family mystery) I am glad to see Anna interacting with the police and judges.
My problem with the game system
Upto Bloody Mary I really didn't experience a system problem but after this change in visuals, movie scenes, and sound I began to experience a system lag that affects the audio. The sound will be on repeat whether it is the effect music, environment or voice it repeat the first sound and doesn't play the whole sound. For example if the beginning of the sentence is "the" it will just be "The the the the...." until the scene ended and just repeats the first sound same goes to the menu sound until I quit the game. If I play the game again the sound problem will be temporarily be resolved but I will notice a lag in the in-game mouse movement and the actual mouse movement. I hope Big Fish check and resolve the problem because I have tried optimizing and uninstalling and installing everything but it doesn't seem to resolve the problem. I played Artifex Mundi games, Gamehouse games, pixel games, and rpg games like final fantasy and find everything running smoothly with no problem.
[Problem update]
The game started going haywire after my Windows 11 update. Played the game in another computer that was not suitable for Windows 11 update and the game worked perfectly well.

Better than average for the genre and its age. I did skip a few mini puzzles due to boredom or frustration, but others were quite fun. They were all unusual, not the same ol' same ol'. I would have liked a few more hidden object scenes.

This game has a good challenge, with plenty of items to find in each scene. Even though this is quite an old game, it played well on Windows 10. There are 35 morphs in find in the game and bonus, which in some cases were challenging to find. Hidden object games are slightly interactive straightforward. The mini-games ranged from easy to medium. If you play in Hardcore Mode (which I did), Hint and Skip are turned off. There is a diary to keep you informed with what is happening. There are 10 achievements. The main game and bonus took me 6 hours to play (not using the interactive map). Comes recommended.

Once again your family is in trouble. This time it is your nephew, who is accused of killing your niece, Elizabeth. Your ability to see the past has been summoned by the court to figure out the sequence of events that led to her death. Of course, you ability to change the past might also secure both your kins’ futures.
HO scenes are fun, minigames challenging, and the plot engaging. Fully recommend. Might want to get in the bundle.

I haven't played a HO adventure game in a long time and sure enough Grim Tales: The Vengeance has become one of my favourites. You're playing as Aunt McGray who has to defend her nephew in court. Everyone accuses him of murdering his sisters for the money. To help her nephew, Aunt McGray uses her special power: going back into the past. I think this is agent McGray from the Time Trackers series. I don't know for sure, but it will be a blast if it is!
However, Aunt McGray must not only achieve the none guilty verdict, but also protect her relatives from a malicious spirit. The illegitimate son who strives for the fortune. It kind of reminds one of Charles Dickens' novels or any other Victorian novella about extended families and tragedies, fortune hunters and haunted amulets.
PROS:
- Awesome scenes;
- Beautiful music;
- Interesting story;
- Journal and fast-travelling map;
- Diverse HO and minigames;
- Collectibles (figurines and morphing objects);
- Long play;
- Main game and Bonus chapters;
- A prequel series to the Time Trackers.
CONS:
- The danger music is annoying at times (more than one loop);
- Nothing else.
I recommend this game with all my heart for everyone interested in playing a HO adventure game that imitate almost to the finest a Victorian novel.

Game started out strong, but turned out to be a buggy mess. It froze up, crashed repeatedly, and even changed course halfway through the game. The map became more of a liability than a help. It started out by showing open tasks the way these game maps usually do. You can also have it show open objectives on the map too. Midway through, the map suddenly stopped working. It kept permanent icons on locations that had already been cleared. It got so cumbersome trying to figure out where to go and what to do as more and more locations and items were added. In a game like this, not having a working map makes it very difficult and very boring. It degenerated into a massive pixel hunt instead of a fun HOP game. Too bad. This is a huge series with lots of games, so hoping they worked out the kinks.

I played the first part of the game without a hitch, but the bonus game has a glitch. I read on line the only way to play the bonus game over again is to replay the main game as a new person. I decided not to because who knows if this glitch will happen again. I cannot recommend this game as I could not finish the bonus game because of the glitch!
