Drifting ships is my lifestyle
it has some minor bugs every now and then but its a good experience (especially with friends) manageable solo to the first boss with AI turrets. WARNING the fire boss can be a challenge.

One of the best team games I've ever played. Feels like you are a real crew on a starship, Difficult single player but still works. Loving all the upgrades they've done so far, hoping for some more ship types but very satisifed with the ones we have.

It’s a really good game—but not for long-term play.
Once you reach a high level, the game becomes boring.
The main issue is the repetitive gameplay. You have to do the same missions over and over again, with little variety. If you've played Sea of Thieves, you'll understand—it gets stuck on just a couple of ships and doesn’t evolve. Every time it's the same META builds, same upgrades, and the same two boring ships.
If you want to spend some time with friends, this is a good choice. But if you’re looking for a deep and long-lasting co-op experience—this isn’t it. The game feels decent, but it lacks depth.
My advice to the developers:
Add more than two ships, each with meaningful modifications.
Introduce more mission variety.
Improve gameplay for all roles—right now only the Pilot and maybe the Engineer are fun to play. The Gunner role is dull and feels like a waste. AI gunner is the better the player gunner.
And finally.
REMOVE the stupid loot box system if you don’t have enough content to support it. Opening a box just to get "Take 200 XP" again and again is frustrating—I don’t need this junk!
When I see real progress in this game, I’ll definitely change my review.

Game seems to focus on hectic busy work (go charge this system, go fix this system) and is not fun with randoms.

There is potential in Void Crew, but the game needed a couple more years in the oven.
The core gameplay loop is good, but between longer runs lacking in objectives, middling variety in missions, bosses, and enemies, and plenty of bugs (both jank and game breaking), this game presents as though it's still in early access.
An example that highlights the current state of the game is the Loremaster achievement. It has not been attainable since the game exited early access over five months ago, and the next patch is looking like it's two or more months out based on developer comments. I don't think having a completely broken achievement is an acceptable state to leave a game in for seven or more months, and given it's an obscenely long pure-RNG grind (~70 hours in my case) with no bad luck protection, I'm inclined to believe nobody at Hutlihut actually took the time to test it before release.
Void Crew can be pretty fun up to maybe the first 40 hours of gameplay, but I wouldn't suggest picking it up right now unless it's on sale and you're willing to deal with the type and quantity of issues you'd expect to see from an early access game.

Last update ruined this game. you know in Zombies how every round increases the zombie hp a slight amount? well this update took inspiration from that and gave enemies levels, except every level increases enemy hp by around 30% so by level 5 your fighting enemies with 2-3x their normal hp, wouldnt be a problem but you encounter these enemies in the 3rd mission forcing you to retreat before the reclaimer arrives every level. revert the level change imo also the new wave mode sucks because of the level system too. level 14 enemies by wave 5 took a tier 3 gun the whole wave to kill a swarm of fighters

The game seems fun, and really nice on certain parts, but it says it is 1 to 4 people, it's clearly not.
Let me put it clear: its a lie, it is a lie from the developers.
You cannot play by yourself, its minimum 2 people, there are a ship that is for 1 person, but you take that ship and you start the game, you are going to be overwhelmed pretty quickly on the first mission already, I tried to run a couple of missions by myself with the ship for one person, and its too stressful and nearly impossible, furthest I could go was 2nd one, and my ship was destroyed pretty quickly, the game only have a "normal mode" ( Pilgrimage: standard) to choose from and "Pilgrimage: Loadout challenge", there is no easy mode or something similar for 1 player, the game was not developed with the possibility of one player only, so no chance to learn better the game or try to enjoy it by yourself and then maybe go online and play with people. It is easier to solo helldivers 2 on helldive difficult then play this game on "normal" by yourself.
So if you are looking forward to enjoy this solo, or try it by yourself, you cant enjoy for 1 person, you will have to bend and play with randoms, shouting at you on the mic that you are slow or you cant play or what not or trying to get friends to play it with you. And because of that I cant recommend this trash.

It's really coming together to be a fun game. Feels like a spiritual successor to Pulsar: Lost Colony.

A gem of a coop game! Super crazy intense gameplay with friends. I really like how the different roles play each such important parts but still have many different play style options. Many great risk reward decisions have to be made together and greed management is huge ;-)
On top of all of that its also very enjoyable in solo mode!

What is it: Sea of Thieves had a baby with Faster Than Light and it's solely PVE.
The Good:
-a variety of gameplay mechanics that keep things interesting. Not easy but not too difficult for the most part, it's easy to have fun and it doesn't feel boring.
-skill trees to enhance your future run experiences.
-a great game to play with friends.
-gameplay is simple but unique and challenging. Challenge focuses on balancing between different tasks instead of incredibly difficult, single tasks.
-I have only encountered one bug in the first 11 hours of gameplay.
The Bad:
-has a couple of game modes but only one really seems what the game was made for.
-you can only choose between two types of ships and you have fixed loadouts for each with no crossover.
-is not well balanced for two people. Single player is surprisingly more playable than with two.
-very limited options of what you can do with a ship with less than three people.
-very low resource drops for a rogue-like. This needs to be buffed.
-basic game mode (pilgrimage) is too short. Needs options for number of stages. 4 (current) feels too little to get involved in a roguelite.
The Ugly:
-Playing as a pilot feels like you're useless. Autopilot is sad and evading enemy fire is critical but that's all you can do. You don't have weapons to use directly as a pilot except a single-shot payload launcher that needs to be reloaded manually, meaning once you shoot, you need to get out of your seat to reload it if you don't have a crew to help.
-most weapons sucks and all encounters are combat related with tons of enemies.
-no real variety in gameplay. It's essentially: go here, shoot this thing, grab this thing, leave.
-if you run out of ammo and don't have the oddly-rare-dropping resources, too bad.
Overall: is it good? Yes! Will you have fun? Probably! Does it need some balancing work? Absolutely, but that doesn't mean it's not fun now.
