As a fan of Fire Emblem-like games, I really like this one so far. In these types of games, casualties always bother me, because you get invested in characters on different levels. (Pun intended.) In this game, your characters are commanders, surrounded by troops. The troop units can be lost without loss of the character or any other penalty. (Dark Deity did a good job changed that FE permadeath feature.) The game scratches the itch without being as stressful under this system. It makes me wonder why the genre changed, since the original Langrisser was one of the first of its kind on Sega Genesis. Anyway, once you get used to the mechanics, it's a lot of fun.
