After reading several of the negative reviews about this game, I figured I just had to see for myself. This is the sort of game that shows you what VR should be capable of. It asks you to manipulate your virtual environment, under a sense of stress. It's a high order to ask from this constantly improving technology. And if you try to compare it side to side with a different FPS VR game (like Onward), there are some shortcomings for sure. First of all I was playing this game using an Acer Predator Helios 300 and an Acer WMR headset. I'd call that a mid-line setup; nothing too fancy. The game works fairly well with the WMR hand controllers. When I'm playing Onward I prefer to use my Oculus Rift S or Quest with link cable as that game's controls are much better adapted for the Oculus controllers. With this game I'd have to say that the WMR controllers performed much better and are a bit more intuitive (especially the touch pad on the shooting hand). It's practically impossible to run in Onward with the WMR controllers but it's pretty easy and straightforward with Special Force VR using the touchpad for motion control. One drawback I found was that at times the weapon and other items in hand seemed to be a bit shaky, especially when I was struggling to change a magazine or select a different weapon/item. I won't chalk that up to the game just yet as it could very well be my GPU, which I wasn't overclocking (and which I have to do to use the Oculus on this computer). Overall this is a fun multiplayer shooter. It's creative and it's a great shoot 'em up. I would like to see a single player versus AI option as sometimes I'm just a bit anti-social and prefer to pick off minions at will. There wasn't a whole lot of actual teamwork involved, however, so I guess you can just look at everyone on the map as an AI minion and you'll get the same effect.

so this is a mixed bag. ive just played my 1st few matches and was doing well.....BUT......a few issues i felt at the moment. 1st i seem to do some accurate shots and still get killed after shooting for ages direct., then next shot i pull off exact shot easy and kill them. 2nd is the snap turning in games drive me nuts lol. i just prefer smooth. i understand others need this perhaps for motion sick, but some including myself prefer as many options as possible to cater for all types. lastly on my last game, my left arm disappeared. my batteries were perfect and on, but it just vanished. i had to complete most with 1 arm holding gun, so i had to just leave the game. despite this, im a fair person and will give a positive coz im a nice guy and can see potential, so long as these 3 things are fixed/added in. even though i lost my left arm in process. ill put my gameplay footage on youtube also showing my arm gone. OPINION UPDATED ON 26/04/20 i have defo enjoyed my recent times on this game since i 1st bought. it seems to run smoother now and did not experience glitch on arm, etc. however, i still get drove nuts with the slow snap turning. i am used to vr with no sickness and wish to be able to just smooth turn, i can do it on firewall zero, the last player, etc, etc, but i cant do it here. PLEASE, PLEASE ALLOW THIS OPTION AS ITS DRIVING ME CRAZY AND IS THE ONLY NEGATIVE I CAN FIND AT THE MOMENT.

Edit: pretty sure they're faking good reviews Just play onward or contractors. The way you hold guns isn't right at all, movement is slow, very laggy atm.

Really impressed with this. Ok, it's a bit glitchy with a few improvements i'd like as you'd expect from early access (especially day 1) but I think this will turn into an epic game. Personally I'd like to be able to change direction with the right (main hand in my case) thumbstick so I dont need to physically turn round. This always screws with my balance. Right thumbstick function should copy the other games (onward, contractors, etc) and trackpad only used for weapon selection. Graphics are really nice and love the destructible elements. Absolutely love the auto reload!! Some may say this takes away from the imersion but I couldnt disagree more. Reloading gets in my way and think reloading automatically is a genius move. Never remove this please!!!

Product has promise, but it still needs a lot of work. Areas of improvement: - Controls (no smooth turning or snap turning, you have to turn IRL) - Hit Boxes (doesn't always register clear headshots, especially if the character is moving VS at a standstill) - Graphics (no AA so you get a ton of shimmering and jaggies; we need advanced graphic options) - Imbalanced volume mix (footsteps are so loud I can hear the enemy hundreds of meters/feet away) - Enemy AI (bots literally sit there and wait for you to kill them) - Ammo Placement (ammo in levels are placed too far into objects that it pushes you away when you try to move closer to grab them)

Another great proof of concept absolutely worth the money. But needs gun play improvements implemented. A- you have to remove the button grip/button un-grip, this should be button held in to hold and button released to drop this will also allow you to change hands so firing from cover works on left or right side B- Not so much an issue but the red dot is way to high above bore, most guns in real life are co-witness so the red dot lines up exactly with the iron sights the more options you add the more friendly the game is to a larger audience keep up the good work id imagine this will be a must have vr multiplayer fps

Its a mess, the shooting is completely unresponsive, optics do not accurately represent where the weapon is aiming, hurttboxes seem to be uniform for the cast as the female character's hurtbox making shots pass straight through parts of the male characters, host advantage is enormous, reloading is difficult due to the non uniform location of the location to press on each weapon's magazine and you aim scoped weapons with your head not your hands. Additionally the weapon selection is extremely slim. The game seemed as if it was an attempt at a port of special forces 2 to VR, but managed to fall short of even its less than unanimously liked predecessor due it how shallow and incomplete it is at the present time. This needed quite a lot more time in the oven before its release onto early access as this is an extremely poor first impression.

BE CAREFUL the positive reviews are probably fake!!! the positive reviewers haven't reviewed other games and the NEGATIVE reviews all seem to have reviewed many games so BE CAREFUL!!! unfortunately the game is unplayable in its current state. I would recommend waiting until the game has been updated. Lots of issues.... aim is a complete mess and way off, the run mechanics aren't great, the Ai bots aren't in sync with your movements and the menu button keeps getting stuck on ur wrist in game. It is a shame as the game on the trailers looked awesome. I would suggest waiting until more updates are added before buying this game. It is 100% a thumbs down for now... Onward is still hands down the most polished FPS for VR. It is a shame for this one, as I had high hopes for it.

I hate leaving a negative review on the release date w/o giving devs a chance to fix it... but when I paid fifteen bucks to play their early access game and cant even get out of the tutorial I feel I should speak up. Playing on HTC Vive. For some reason the sub hand (left hand) trigger functions do not seem to work in game. I am unable to remove the magazine from my gun by pressing left trigger while pulling on mag... I have to fire off all the rounds for it to auto-eject the mag. Then the tutorial brings me to a door and tells me press left trigger to open... nothing happens... so I'm stuck with no way to proceed. I was expecting bugs and that kind of thing but not even being able to complete the tutorial makes for a real disappointing download. I'll check back in a few days to see if they fix it and will update the review if so. Other than being stuck way to early in the game, it seemed like it was off to a good start. I wouldn't write it off just yet but cant recommend it either.

BUYER BEWARE: Just about every positive review on this game is boosted by the devs themselves. Most the accounts have 1 product and 1 review. Very obvious. UPDATE: Someone from their team contacted me trying to get me to change my review to positive. Lol no. Report this game for false reviews and move on. Thank you. Sounds are way out of balance. Gun play is terrible.
