best EDF that i have played very underrated game some of the trailers were kinda bad someone should be fired for that

EDF Iron Rain isn't bad but it isn't great either plus it can be frustrating and annoying. As a massive EDF fan this is my least favorite game of the series. I wish there was a "mixed" option instead of just saying yes or no because I'd be lying if I didn't find fun playing Iron Rain and there are some fun ideas in the game. Mixing and mashing classes via PA gear is fun. My favorite is a fun spin on Attack on Titan. The simple joy of fighting hordes of giant alien bugs is still here. At its best Iron Rain is a perfectly okay EDF game that never surpasses the mainline games. It doesn't have that campy endearing kaiju movie charm that the mainline games have. It doesn't have the same obnoxious number of enemies on screen. Sometimes it throws cheap enemies at you that can constantly freeze or ragdoll you in a loop of never being able to escape. Some fights feel unfair so you find ways to cheese the enemy (even on normal difficulty). But those things aren't why I give it a thumbs down (I like Insect Armageddon for reference). The reason I give it a thumbs down is because it doesn't have many fun weapons and their unlock/progression system is artificially way too grindy. The weapons either have small magazine sizes, long reload times or both. To get better weapons you have to complete a particular mission on a particular difficulty or you have to kill an insane amount of an enemy type. No weapon farming here. Even the best weapons have the same issues of reload times (like 8-20 seconds long). This discouraged me from getting into this game like the other games in the series where I do multiple playthroughs on higher difficulties with weapon farming. Overall if you're a diehard EDF fan with a curiosity for Iron Rain my advice would be wait for a sale and give it a single playthrough to get the maximum enjoyment out of it. I just can't recommend it over the games in the series hence why my thumbs down.
