This is THE first person shooter game. Yeah, I might be biased with nostalgia, but both then and now, this is the impeccable campaign that never fails to scratch the itch whenever I need to relax playing this type of game. So far, nothing has surpassed it.

This game is way better compared to the micro-transaction version of it, Singleplayer story is really fun, It took me 6 hours to complete it. Yea i get it multiplayer has a RCE vuln (You can use a custom COD client to patch it but activision will probably make a lawsuit ) but i regularly just play on the singleplayer mode Hopefully Activision fixes the steam version's multiplayer RCE! Overall, it's quite worth the price and you should give it a try!

Really fun game, one of the best campaigns ever. Shooting is really fun, the games mechanics are great. Arguably the best game in the franchise, 10/10

Recently bought this game and completed the campaign fairly quickly. Ain't too bad, frankly. Nothing much else to put here, other than- SOAP, DODGE THAT HELICOPTER!

it's so funny to me they've had to change the name of this game to include the year due to their slop releases since modern warfare reboots.. really shows how they value their older products! with. stupidly high prices tldr: game good, buy it on a sale, use IW4X to play it safely, activision is a bunch of bastards

Call of duty Modern Warfare 2 is a fantastic game, One of the best call of duty games ever made. The story is gripping and has the player invested from start to finish. Special Ops mode is still one of the best modes in call of duty other than zombies. The game also works great on steam deck with keyboard and mouse in docked mode, was able to beat through the whole campaign with no issues whatsoever. Defiantly pick this game up on a sale, for some reason Activision still charges full prices for these older cod titles which makes no sense considering how old these games are.

I think this is the best installment in the original trilogy. The soundtrack is amazing and the missions are very varied and entertaining.

I doubt there will ever again be a mainstream game with a storyline this subversive and suspenseful. Even more than ten years later, this game feels like playing a blockbuster action movie. Lightning in a bottle.

Short, sweet and simple. That's the best way to describe the original Modern Warfare 2. While the story is campy and over-the-top, it never comes off as unintentionally so and still has plenty of memorable dramatic moments, even if they're similarly exaggerated in their scale and tone. The spec-ops missions is where the game truly shines and sets itself apart, though. Compared to the main story missions, they are less cinematic and more well made from a gameplay perspective, providing various types of mission scenarios that provide a satisfying challenge, especially on higher difficulties where more tact and carefulness is required. The spec-ops leveled are well structured and fairly balanced, with a good progression system via the 1-3 stars earned by completing missions being used to unlock more missions. With a large number of spec-ops available in the game, it can more than double the total playtime and contributes a lot to the replayability of the game as a whole. Overall, an 8.5/10. Not a perfect shooter, but for the kind that it is, it's hard to do better in terms of content and enjoyment.

This game is classic, but I think the modern war is worth the fare too (2009).
