Vegas Pro Crash Simulator.
After 10 attempts finally 1 video was successfully rendered.
It took over 10min to convert 25sec video.

It was recommended on some christmass sales under the category of PSYCHOLOGICAL HORROR.
Which is dead on accurate, and that might be the only positive thing about it :)
TLDR:
Do yourself a favor and get DaVinci Resolve (free or full version, which will be cheaper and better anyway).
IF (...and you better don't) if you really want to begin your journey in video editing with vegas software, get yourself a cheapest (AND ON SALE) Studio version that have bezier curves cutter and masking (for saucy transitions; also YT search Sapphire). Everything else from vegas is wasting your money.
FULL READ: (worth it tho if you're considering the purchase)
[EDIT oct'22: make no mistake about the hours - literally about 1000 is me finally falling asleep after half of day of freezes about 1-2 hours into rendering (2.7-4k~6-20min), in hope that when i'll wake up, with a bit of luck, i'll might have a video to upload, and about 40% of times i was dissappointed [rtx3060ti,36gb ddr3, i7-3,6-4ghz quad, ssd] ... it just goes random FU]
It's not bad (crashes excluded), but thing is, it's not good eighter...
Deffinately not worth the full price, and honestly, not even worth getting on discount.
Why?
Transitions and media generators you get are very basic, soon you'll find yourself making your own.
There's no way (known to me at least) to save them as presets, so if you want to re-use something in other projects you have to eighter copy it from existing one, or create it all over again (stuff like scaled animated logos, where re-using a video isn't an option... so is re-using two-three elements from your timeline along with their properties).
Motion tracking and stabilisation is garbage in this and even in 2018 pro.
It likes to random crash on you even on a decent rig while rendering freakin FullHD (1080p60fps), or just because it felt like crashing during the editing... or rendering... or saving...
Consumes way too much resources, preview is choppy even on lower settings which are barely useful for any color grading or decent transition matching (which it also likes to randomly mess up from time to time during rendering somehow, especially if you're working on videos with different base size, which are then resized to same size during editing; oh boy! it doesn't like that even if everything is perfectly fine on timeline and preview, renders end up ALL OVER THE PLACE).
On top of that crashes tend to corrupt movie files every once in a while, so expect to learn file recovery or ditching projects because of permanently corrupted files. Or having LITERALLY a backup to your backup -.-
Additionally, if you ever wanted to upgrade it, there's actually no way to do it (with steam version) and you'll have to buy a full version of newer software, which will AGAIN give you a very few, outdated and insignificant tools.
And you won't even get the newest one, casue they come to steam with like 3-4 versions delay, just to be extra sure you're not up to date with what video editors are capable to do and provide this days.
It's really a minor upgrade over ver. 14 Studio, adding practically nothing more than bezier cutting tool if you want to make more advanced transitions, and a couple minor transition and media patterns which you probably won't use much or at all in the first place.
No 7.1 audio supprot, no 360 videos support, no 3D models integration... Even new versions are literally a BASIC video editing software, that will cost you more (on sale!) than getting a year subscription or full license of some other pro editing software, while offering way less functionality and way more random crashes.
I'll say it again:
Do yourself a favor.
Get DaVinci Resolve.
or Adobe if you dig it.
With that said, i really want to like it, but in this times it's simply doesn't hold to ANY standard, even if it was sold for 50$... might consider it a "curiosity" if it was for 20-25$, but ONLY if i had a money to burn and nothing better to spend it on, and even that would be a stretch (also applies to 2018pro).
Btw. I should be rendering 720p60 fps 50 second clip for instagram now... But it crashed and corrupted my local file again. Don't feel like restoring the backup. Seriously -.- F this.
Don't make the mistake i did in wanting to believe in vegas.
Get yourself a normal, working software, that will allow you to create freely, instead of spending your time on constant frustration, troubleshooting and anxiety of saving with every single change you made, backuping your saves and videos used, just in case it decided to take dump on your work in next 5 seconds and corrupt your save/video files in the process... and i'm dead serious about it - had to cancel two videos and a paid project because of that, it's way more common than it should be.
