This is being written after "first playthrough", and I'm expecting many, many more. tl;dr if you care at all for shmups or experience of a solo developed creation (however personal the experience may be), or video games as a medium - BUY ANGEL AT DUSK The game is just phenomenal - it's so cohesive. The visuals, and audio flow together with player inputs. The enemies are as varied in appearance as they are in attack patterns, and I haven't even seen that much yet. Still, once the right way to play it starts clicking, it's just an in-the-zone experience... Until the stage is over, and you're rewarded with a glimpse, at best a few sentences worth of the game's story. I've no idea where it's going as I'm writing this, but the lore and the method of delivery are both brilliant. Whenever you make progress, you learn something more about the game's world. It's one of those experiences that you just can't not think about. I must disclose that it can be somewhat disturbing. Not quite for the younger gamer, but I wouldn't have it any other way. It's full of deceit too, in the best of ways a game can be. Full marks. Play it.
