It's a very decent beer&pretzel-meets-Grand-Strategy game that allows you to play American Civil War below 5-8 hours. It seems to be a bit inferior to Victory & Glory: Napoleon when it comes to game time, difficulty and amount of fun, but it properly represents all major aspects in ACW and has slightly upgraded battle system over this of Napoleon. It also has some potential for Hot Seat implementation (in V&G: Napoleon it was pretty much impossible due to significant total advantage of potential coalition members and through-the-sea movement for British armies) so if designers would be interested, this could have multiplayer. Neverthless, even if purely singleplayer game, it's still nice short strategy game set in interesting period with beautiful map, cards and very nice music (especially like the opening theme in the menu). I can honestly recommend it to any light-strategy game fan.
