If you're a hockey fan or sim games in general, you should give this game a try. At this point you have only two real choices, Eastside Hockey Manager, which didnt see an update since 2018, and this one. Both games are good, but since EHM isnt going anywhere, it looks like an obvious choice. Game gets frequent updates, so its still improving. In 80h of play i had two random crashes, other than that it run smoothly. Developer actually listens to community and even answers plebs questions, imagine that. The biggest drawback is that theres no 2D game view yet (it comes in FHM 7 i think), so at the beginning you're going in blind, especially if you're not, like me, necessarily a big hockey fan. After i did some research though, about what all these tactic options actually do, everything started to make more sense. And thats the biggest pro for me: lots of tactical options and the changes you make matter. For example my first try as Islanders was a disaster. Even though i spent lots of time setting everything up, i couldnt win any games, and the ones i did win looked like i just lucked out while being outshot heavily every time. That was an offensive Islanders approach (for the most part). So i started over and switched to more defensive and slow/conservative tactics and suddenly i started winning a lot more games, even won Stanley Cup at the end (just like in real life, i come from the future). It just shows to me, that you must choose tactic appropriate to the team you have, theres no just one best setup for every team and its great. Anyway, on to the offseason...
