This game is bad, very bad in its essential component: the playability. It does have other components like the story and art & design (interesting the first and very good the second, there are few OST that SLAP too), but they are secondary in comparison how plays the game. The start of the game is easy although could be challenging (a good thing ) i' ve done early bosses even without using potions without too much effort. So you might be wondering: "what's the problem then?" This game is BATSHIT unbalanced [FROM HERE SPOILERS NOT ONLY STORY WISE BUT GAME MECHS TOO]: The boss that gave me most problems is the third, I think I spent something like 4 hours on this undead king MFCKer because is absurd( i was trying to not use potions here too, but utterly impossible early game ): it spams minion like crazy some of them take LESS DAMAGE THAN THE BOSS ITSELF, the boss can even spam barriers that divide the screen in few zone that are so tiny that when surrounded you are surely dead 7 times out of 10 (theese fucking barriers are even HARD AS FUCK to remove and divided in segments so don't break all but only A PART), meanwhile some enemies can walk (or fly, yes there are even godamn flying skulls) past this things. From here on you're in hell: the areas become horribly frustrating because of some enemies; they can throw things at you from off-screen without knowing where they are (vertically or horizontally, depending on the area, not giving a damn), they can move behind parts of the environment, making it difficult to know where they are (because what a beatiful idea having enemies not always be on the highest layer on screen), the skill tree is useless, once you reach a certain point in the game you don't have enough attack you will have to fight bosses that will last forever (the same goes for defense), you will find yourself one-shotted or taking ages to take down a boss, so it becomes imperative to EXPLORE each area well to have decent equipment (which in any case will be of no use without the perks on ATK & DEF... OH YES obviously the merchants sell shitty equipment so we don't miss anything). The best part of the game is basically the end, from about 75% onwards it becomes less annoying and actually fun. Except for a section of the Void, it's easy to get to the end of the game (only to find yourself with yet another shitty boss that has to summon minions to be difficult). The difficult void section is the one that ultimately allows you to farm and get the strongest things in the game and is completely secondary (so much so that you have to find a key to access it) but what's in there is really absurd; The dungeon of the Decayed (if you manage to get past one if not the most annoying area of the game). Yes, inside there is the best equipment in the game but with a very small, tiny, tiny problem, not ONLY A FUCKING BOSS RUSH OF THE ENTIRE GAME; BUT THEY ARE EVEN STRONGER, FASTER, BETTER (sorry for this) AND OF COURSE CAN SUMMONS HORDS OF MINIONS, OR HAVE 10 MORE UNWANTED AND ABSOLUTELY NOT BORING MECHANICS AS IF ALREADY HAVING 10000+ HP WASN'T ENOUGH, since I was curious (and full the shit with the game) I cheated to see all the boss rush stages myself after few tries. For the record, I was equipped with the best armor in the game and the best weapon at the time with almost every perk in the skill tree, while they were destroying me,I didn't do anything to them. Another thing, when i've done the final boss I was equipped with the best armor and It didn't seem to me to be that easy, so it could also be hell for those equipped with something else. In conclusion, The Vagrant, is bad because unbalanced and annoying, there is nothing special about the gameplay that should make it stand out from others in its category, if you want to play similar games there are plenty without mentioning the most famous ones, there are better ones to play with. My run was done in normal mode, just to give you an idea
