Pretty good, though not quite the masterpiece it's flaunted to be. Pros: - The story, while at ime monotonous, has its moments. Particularly well written is Takako's character, who starts off as a stock ditzy / genki girl and then moves into... more subtle territory. - The occasional abstract aesthetics, especially in the title cards and interludes, add a nice artsy touch to the whole. - The sprites and illustrations, while not exactly spectacular, are still fairly well put together. No big anatomy awkwardness / bizarre angles. Cons: - The story does meander, and it does so a lot. It's like a soup: chunky pieces amidst a generic sea of chatter that is ultimately not consequential to the story. - the background CG is messy, mixing retouched pics and 3d art in a very awkward manner. - the sound design / music is HIDEOUS. Sound effects are canny and mixed way too loud. The music is bland, generic MIDI fare that is obtrusive and often out of sync with the scene's tone. There are outliers, but theiy are far and in between. So, still has all the flaws of an indie production, but also all of its charms. Make of it what you will.
