Don't expect an actually informative review of the game, just sharing my quick thoughts: It's been a long ass time since I've felt so conflicted about a game, on one hand I love a lot about it, most cutscenes manage to be pretty funny and if not, charming and/or cool as shit, on the other hand the game can be really tone deaf and ironically end up taking itself too seriously even with all the goofy shit that happens, like it's trying to show you that what's happening is sooo totally crazy and out of this world that I just kinda sighed and shrugged when SOME of the "goofy self aware shit happened", or how some cutscenes are just not really well directed (the long ass slow mo cutscene being probably the best example of this). I could say what I feel about the gameplay but for the most part I enjoyed it and yes, it's flawed, it's shallow, the camera sucks, but it was satisfying, and even if it wasn't it's not exactly what I wanna look at in this game (and let me tell you that gameplay is usually not something I just give a free pass to). The game is at best a 7 throughout most of the duration, but for some reason I just absolutely loved the ending, I don't even care if it's not "objectively well written", I absolutely adored it and loved the connections they made with Mondo and David's brotherhood and the dark matter, their blood, the moon, that shit. You don't see a game get so interesting at the end all of a sudden for absolutely no reason, I legit expected the game to end with it's average run of the mill boring case about some dipshit losing their legs on saturn but luckily it wasn't that. I just don't know what to say, love the soundtrack, the style (even if it gets a bit too blue at times, like in the sense that there's too much of the color blue in the game and it can be a bit rough on the eyes) and the ending...story was okay, like its the definition of serviceable. Not on the level of a lot of Suda's work and ESPECIALLY not No More Heroes and Killer7, but it was good, I'm glad I finally finished this game after dropping it 2 times at the train, I really am.
