This is a short and sweet horror experience, one of my favourite genres as you can guess! Chester is the story of a guy who, after an accident, falls into a sort of coma, where he re-lives his childhood fears. We play as a young child, and we have to beat a sequence of three different challenges with the help of our faithful bunny plush, Chester. Honestly speaking, this game is not particularly ambitious (the price is adequate to its longevity and complexity), BUT, it does two things very well in my opinion: - the gloomy atmosphere is very well built, it succeeds in making you feel lost, helpless and uncomfortable, as it should be in every well made horror game on Earth - a good level of fun and entertainment is maintained throughout ALL the game thanks to the variety of the three challenges: each one of them presents a particular mechanic, and tests a particular skill of yours, mostly through an intelligent level and sound design; this is the best aspect of this product in my opinion, the gameplay is always interesting and dynamic. In other reviews you may read that you need to retry from the beginning each time you die, but don't worry, the dev added checkpoints in the latest patch, so you won't lose any progress and you won't get frustrated. And this is good, because the gameplay is pretty challenging! The only downside is: if you die even once, you'll get the bad ending. Personally I think it is a good idea, it adds replayability and stimulates you to get better and better each time. Overall, I think this is a very nice little horror game, with a great atmopshere, a haunting sound design, and a fun and pretty dynamic gameplay. Be sure to check it out if you still fear the dark and the monsters who may lurk inside! Cheers guys!
