This game is awesome (maybe one or two routes are boring or just wtf but otherwise it's good)
Too bad I had to buy Elite with...

At first I thought this game was just a compilation of side fun slice of life scene with Steins;Gate cast, since it's just something bundled with the remake of the OG VN.
Oh boy how wrong was I. These stories are about just as heartbreaking as the original VN.
The universe of Steins;Gate in general, with the existence of wordlines and all, lends itself really well to substories like the ones in this game, because you don't get to ask yourself wether what you're reading is canon or not, It's just another wordline. The first six routes were absolutely fantastic, I was blown away by the quality of the writing. Unfortunately, I noticed a clear disparity between these and the latter routes, although they were still enjoyable nonetheless.
Spoilers of some routes below, don't read if you haven't played the game:
I was specially disappointed with Lukako's route. I feel like it would've been SO interesting to get to know the events after her ending on the original VN, how she and Okabe would cope with the guilt of leaving Mayuri behind, what the other lab mems would've done afterwards, how stuff led to them having a child... maybe some slice of life scenes with Parents Okabe and Lukako even! But instead, we just get something that just completely disregards what happened in the original ending, in the most crude way possible...
Mayuri's route was pretty much a rehash for 3/4 of it, but the ending made up for it.
Kiryu's route was pretty good, but it's still FAR from the level of the first six.
I will say though, I don't think I would've been so harsh with these routes if it weren't for the fact that the first ones were absolute bangers.
This game is surprisingly pretty long. The stories are pretty short, but adding up you get a somewhat lengthy VN to read. There are a lot of CG for your eyes pleasure, drawn in the same artstyle as those of the OG unlike Steins;Gate 0.
I do have a nitpick however: even though I'm not a native English speaker, and I usually just don't care about this, the amount of typos and grammatical mistakes was really jarring, even for me, and specially on the latter routes.
Anyway, in conclusion, I recommend this game as a must for any Steins;Gate fan. Maybe wait a sale (tbh though I would've been fine for full price still), and hey, you get a free remake of the OG VN with it lmao.
