I wanna begin by saying that in the six hours or so that I began playing I had a blast of fun (which I mean to say I loved it) mainly the art style and lore if I'm honest, those are the things that bring me here, the gameplay was great too, I may not be the best at bullet hell mixed with action packed rpgs but this one got me from beginning to end in one day for Hazel who might be my favorite so far, the reason I haven't gotten to Axel yet...well....yeah that's the thing.
What I do consider negative about the game is the fact that past Shouko's second fight and Wonderland, even the core of the comet, it's a mix of annoying and extremely hard, like the jump in the difficulty felt unfairly distant to me from the point I mentioned prior, for one the battle with the floating cube is the annoying part, it's just one health bar but the cube just wouldn't leave me any opening to do significant damage unless I risked spamming the downwards slash in tandem with the karma mode, I was being defeated by a CUBE, and Soleil, OH MY GOD THIS WOMAN OF GOD, she has patterns that are avoidable yes, but she ironically reveals the flaws on the mechanics and controls.
To begin, the Karma system plays more in her favor than Hazel's, and the jump is far too short to consistently hit her with the blade beam to warp towards her and hit her, therefore, I can't get rid of the extra damage I'll inevitably take, over 50 attempts only like 6 of them were almost successful in hitting her, and I really question the decision of putting the parry key as the Shift key, when everything needs to be decided in a split second, I can only parry few hits in the end, there's just not enough time to either dodge or parry in time, and I know you might be asking yourselves "But why don't you use a controler? That's what the devs suggested-" buddy, I'm from Venezuela, I can't afford one of those. That's why I use a keyboard, and there's zero extra edge that makes the fight more fair, no extra health bar, no upgrades for defense and attack or even I-Frames, no upwards slash for Hazel, and the blade beam goes in a straight line so trying to pull off warp attacks consistently like aformentioned here is pretty much too difficult to be viable, while the boss gets like 5 different attacks, and 4 health bars and overdrive for all of her attacks, and it wouldn't suprise me if she had a way to recover health on her own at the last bar.
I wouldn't know, because even after dozens of attempts I couldn't get past that part, I still would recommend this game regardless to any friend of mine, but these issues are too much for a first comer in my opinion....
