I'm surprised this isn't SMS 3, outside of the PSX graphics, gameplay wise this is ALL the series ever wanted and needed: Simple to understand player movement mechanics, less levels compensated with more embrioment variety, a LOT of enemy variety that makes them stand out from each other, magnificent detail to animations and designs for the puppets hunting you down, a VERY fleshed out world that's fun to explore (SPECIALLY THE STUDIO), an OCEAN of extra/post-game content and a story that a bit cliche still fits the setting like a glove and even inmerses you into the game organically.
The item locations being randomized is good but can be painful in the late game (Specially the final level), this game is HARD and would only recommend it to people who can handle a lot of trial and error trying to optimize paths and memorizing item spawn points.
If SMS 3 has the same quality as this game or even more, a game that despite it's dificulty you can't help but revisit it to play more of it because it's fair and has such fun mechanics to play around with ASWELL as a world this interesting ENHANCED by the gorgeous 80's-esque OST, then I can say without a doubt Slaughter Me Street is gonna have a reinnasance.
5 Euros well spent, my only complain about this game is that sometimes the game is too hard even on Normal Mode (Never played easy mode except for the speedrun archivements) and I must say this game can give weeks if not MONTHS of content to it's buyers.
9/10, this is the best possible outcome for the series, never seen a game with 100% rating (as I'm writting this) on Steam in my entire life, and it's very well deserved.
