Wow... I just... Wow (Contains spoilers)
I finished the game today, I love stories and songs, and this is the best game I have ever played so far, Can't wait to play it again!
Such a terrifying world Vasya lives in, because the narrator mostly adresses the player, you often forget that Vasilisa is the one going through all of this at the player's whim, that you are seeing the world through her eyes, the moment when she finally breaks down in the middle of the game, falls on her knees on that golden field and cries her heart out, no one to comfort her, no one to listen to her sorrow but the grave of her beloved, my heart broke, and I realized that we're telling her story, that the world she lives in is very real for her, all of her sorrows, all of her pain, to carry them alone, only the player to witness, and it saddened me that I couldn't comfort her.
I love that there is no black and white here, but infinite shades of grey, not everyone is 100% good or bad, Alexander, who seemed just another character turned villian then hero for a noble cause, Old Egor, who seemed my lovely grandpa, had the most terrifying reveal ever!
I also undererstimated how far the impact of my actions would reach, being reminded of stuff I did at the very beginning of the game, good thing I went or the happy ending or I wouldn't had passed the trials of hell!
I kinda shipped her and Alexander, wished somewhat of an ending where, if Vasya couldn't get her beloved back, she and Al could have joined forces for the people in Russia, then something would flourish between them, at least a good friendship, seeing that he would be the only one that knew the torments of being Kolduns, but I teared up when I saw her reunited back with her lover anyways!
Also that two elbow-ed thing in the forest scared the life outta me!!!! TTwTT I thought I would be stuck forever fighting that monster in the forest! oMG, And the toothy swan! I was like- Eh!?!?! Is this a joke from the developers at such crucial point of the game!?!?! But Pierre proved to be a lovely character, no matter how short his time was!
Also I have a bit of a complain with Vasya's movement, specially during the 'sneak around' from the giant spider, she kept moving around too much and I died one too many times for my sanity, also she gets stuck on invisible walls and the camera plays against you when you are herb hunting, it get's kinda fixed if you lower the settings, though.
Anyway! It's was an honor to get the demo and then the whole game, the wait was worth it! (Also, I think the developer's name's are hidden at the grave yards? Spooky!) Thank you so, so much for this amazing piece of art!!! I love talking to my coworkers and friends about it and they seem preyy hyped with just the concept! Keep doing what you do guys, kudos to all the love and hard work poured into this amazing journey, I can't get enough of it! Kisses!!!
