Pros:
- Interesting setting
- Top notch presentation
- Interesting characters
- Dungeons aren't annoying at all
- Combat system is fun: normal attacks consist of timed hits/dodges with a few twists and special attacks consist of microgames like mashing buttons, catching an object or shooting down a space ship.
- No random combats, although you may have to do a little bit of grinding for some bosses
Cons:
- The first 40 minutes, right until the title drop, are fucking incredible. The initial set up is fun, unique and gives you high expectations on what's to come. Then the plot becomes a "solve the mystery" story and kinda throws everything away.
- The inventory, which is by far the worst aspect of this game and objectively a bad design choice. For some reason, weapons and accesories occupy an inventory slot even while having them equipped and key items don't have a dedicated slot. There's also a lot of items on the ground, which should be a good thing, but the inventory space you have is so limited (partly because of the weapons, accesories and key items issues) that getting those items is counterproductive. The game also has a PC system which allows you to deposit or withdraw items... and, of course, it's badly implemented. I haven't seen PCs in accesible places so you'd have to go back and forth if you wanted to order your inventory before an important bossfight or something. This is a JRPG, not a survival horror, managing an inventory shouldn't be this annoying.
- Movement. It's shoddy. You can walk horizontally, vertically or diagonally, but the walking speed is rather slow so you'll end up running. That's when you'll find out you CANNOT run diagonally. Why is this a thing? Being able to walk diagonally but not run is a major issue that needs to be fixed.
That's all from me. Game's fun and charming, but the inventory system and the movement need to be fixed ASAP.
PS: READ THE REVIEW THAT SAID SOMETHING ABOUT THE DIFFICULTY SETTINGS AND BE CAREFUL WHEN MODIFYING THEM. IT MAY GREATLY HINDER YOUR EXPERIENCE.
