Ein Spiele Emulator der besonderen art!

It´s a new and fresh way to exprience VR and play with other friends ^^ You can implement your own ROMs which is awsome ;D performance is great too I had no lags or shutter so far. The style of the overall game is pretty interesting, and there is very detaild stuff in it. I'm looking forward to the lasertag :o hope it comes soon.

still doesnt work. i cant start a game. i tryed to bind the instert coin to every button nothing works.

Super! Für mich ist das einer der besten VR-Titel im Steam-Shop... Nach einer etwas aufwendigen Konfiguration macht man eine Zeitreise in die frühen 90er :)

This one could be so good. The idea of putting emulators into a virtual arcade is brilliant. It looks cool, it sounds 3D and it's modable. The deal (and immersion) breaker here is, that it does not support the index knuckle controllers or any handtracking. So instead of playing the cabintes like you would in real - "holding the stick with one hand - smashing buttons with your fingres" you have to use the buttons and sticks on your VR controlls - and this is just horrible! Especially the keybindings on the index knuckles feel soooo wrong. Then there are some minor flaws, sometimes you grab something and can not let loose - the e-guitar for instance is very much broken. Speaking of breaking stuff - you cant; bottles will not shatter, cups will not knick, food is not interactible and most stuff is glued to the tables like cigarettes, pizza-boxes, magazines etc. Dont get me wrong, the "game" is not bad - if you like to tweek around for some hours, and see what is possible in VR or to show some friends. But at this state it's just a gimmick. The main point of the games beeing fun to interact with is not fulfilled. I will definitely come back to this and change this to a postive review if it at least develops finger tracking and stops beeing a demo of what we could have had. PS: Keep in mind, that if you want to see the full potential of this even as it is now, you will need to get your roms and assets ready, and that the implementation can be little bit tricky. For example: I had to manually add lines to the user.ini file to get my custom arcade to work. ...but maybe its part of the experience ...like with real cabinets.

Das must Have Tool für VR Retro fans^^ bekannt schon seid Dk1/Dk2 Zeiten. Falls ihr gerne mal eure alten Roms in Emulatoren nutzt, ist New Retro Arcade: Neon das Tool/game eurer Wahl, hier kann man seine eigene Arcade zusammenbauen und in VR nutzen... falls ihr so alt wie ich seid, werden hier Kindheits erinnerungen wach^^

Hierbei handelt es sich um ein leistungsstarkes Tool und Spiel mit vielen Möglichkeiten. Das Hauptmenü, welches eine kleine Insel mit einem Spielautomaten ist, gibt einen schon richtige 80er-Neon-Retro-Gefühle. An diesen einen Automat kann man dann wählen in welche Spielhalle man geht (derzeit gibt es zwei Hallen, einmal die klassische und ein mal die etwas größere Neon) und diverse Einstellungen vornehmen. Zugegeben ist dies ein gewöhnungsbedürftiges Menü welches aber auch irgendwie innovativ ist. In den Hallen kann man dann an Automaten, Console (Super Nintendo) oder Handheld (Gameboys) emulierte Spiele (die man selbst aus dem Internet laden und installieren muss!) spielen, die Hintergrundmusik kann mit herumliegenden Kassettten am Kassettenrecorder gewechselt werden und es gibt Spielmöglichkeiten wie eine kleine Bowlingbahn, Basketballspiel, Punchautomat, Dart und ein paar mehr. Diese Spielmöglichkeiten sind jedoch nur in VR interessant und wirken am Computer mit PC-Steuerung etwas unsinnig. Mit den fleißigen Entwicklern und der Community und dessen Tools ist es einfach die Spiele zu installieren und außerdem kann man auch die Plakate in den Hallen ändern, sowie eigene Hintergrundmusik (Kassetten) einbauen und in der größeren Neon-Map gibt es auch ein Kino wo man selbst eingebaute Videos schauen kann. Wer wie ich die Map etwas genauer untersucht hat, weiß das es da noch etwas verstecktes gibt (wo vmtl. noch daran gearbeitet wird - mehr wird nicht gespoilert). Was ich mir noch wünschen würde, wäre ein C64-Emulator (und später wäre auch die Möglichkeit die Map zu bearbeiten interessant). Pro: - Emuliert viele Spiele - Dank der dazu gehörenden Tools ist es einfach die Automaten zu bearbeiten - Richtiges Retrofeeling - Mit Computer genauso wie mit VR-Headset nutzbar Contra: - Das gehen und rotieren in VR ist extrem unangenehm und löst starken Schwindel aus (zumindest als geh-alternative gibt es teleportieren) - Ich wünschte mir noch einen C64 in einen der Hallen Ich kann trotz der beiden negativen Punkte diesen Emulator trotzdem empfehlen. Hat man einmal die Automaten eingerichtet macht es mega Spass und man hat echtes Retrofeeling. Ich vermisse zwar etwas Gesellschaft (hatte mal ein öffentlichen Server erstellt, habe aber niemanden gesehen). Ich glaube der Multiplayermodus ist noch in der Entwicklung. Aber an den Automaten vergisst man in der VR sowieso schnell die Zeit und einzig die Augenschmerzen durch VR-Headset sorgen dafür, das man die VR-Arcadehalle verlässt. ============================== This is a powerful tool and game with many options. The mainmenu, which is a small island with a arcademachine, gives a true 80s-neon-retro-feeling. At this one machine you can then choose which arcadehall you will go (currently there are two halls, once the classic-map and one is the larger neon-map) and make various settings. This menu is a habituation-needing menu which is also slightly innovative. In the halls you can then play on arcademachines, consoles (Super Nintendo) or handheld (Gameboys) with emulated games (which you have to download and install yourself from the internet!), The background music can be changed on the cassette recorder with cassettes lying around in the hall and there are game possibilities like a small bowling alley, basketball game, punching machine, darts and a few more. However, these game possibilities are interesting only in VR and seem somewhat nonsensical on the computer with PC-controls. With the tools from the hard-working developers and the community, its easy to install the games and also you can change the posters in the halls, as well as build your own background music (cassettes) and in the larger neon-map, there is also a cinema where you can self added videos look. If you have a closer look at the map, you know that there is something else hidden (where the developer still working on it, i think - nothing more is being spoiled). What I would like to have is a C64-emulator (and later it would be great when we can edit the map). Pro: - Emulates many games - With the associated tools, it is easy to edit the arcademachines - Right retrofeeling - Can be used with a computer as well as with a VR-Headset Cons: - The go and rotate in VR is extremely unpleasant and triggers strong dizziness (at least as go-alternative there gives teleport-function) - I still wish a C64 in one of the halls Despite the two negative points I can still recommend this emulator. Once you have setup the arcademachines it is super fun and you have a real retrofeeling. I miss some fellowship (had once created a public server, but have seen no one). I think the multiplayer-mode is still in development. But at the arcademachines you forgets in VR fast the time and only the eye-pain through VR-Headset ensure that you leaves the VR-Arcadehall.
