Skarab Steam-Diagramme & Statistiken

Skarab, is a short little indie pixelart game for an small price. If you grew up and loved Exhumed/PowerSlave on the PSX or Saturn, you will have a lot of fun with this game too. It took me about 2 hours to beat it and even the last boss was a pain in the ass (at least for me until you figure it out, how to drop him easily), I think you get a good overall performance for the low price of the game. There are a variety of different and interesting enemies you can attack with several antique weapons. The AI of those enemies is for sure not the best and you will maybe use their own stupitidy to trick them out and kill them easily. But overall I had a lot of fun exploring the well crafted levels. The music in this game is fantastic and I wish, there would be an option to listen to the tracks in the menu. While the game is good overall, there are some things which could be better of course. There's no official controller support (for gamepad players like me) for example. The Steam layout is fine, not perfect, but you will be able to config the settings if necessary. Somehow I missed some basic things like stats. There was no hint for me how much secrets I uncovered or how many enemies I killed after finishing an level. It felt a bit rough. The saving mechanics are functional but a bit strange in the beginning (compared to other games). If you are looking for an good time for a few hours with an beautiful egyptian artstyle underlined with an fantastic soundtrack, then you will definitely not regret buying this little project. And selfspeaking that this low price is unbeatable for that quality. Well made retro fan service.
