Card Survival: Fantasy Forest Steam-Diagramme & Statistiken

TL; DR: Would I compare CS:TI to CS:FF and vice versa? CS:FF indeed is a Survival game but it would take a lot of fun and gameplay down the drain if compared to CS:TI. The focus is totally different (except from the core mechanism of surviving). CS:FF is more hunting and crafting after settling down than strolling around and exploring. And nature plays a far greater role than in CS:TI. The devs also decided to create a quest-based game instead of free exploration. So progressing depends on fulfilling tasks (even if it is possible to play the game in research mode similar to CS:TI). It is a new conception but definitely worth a try. Soooo ... would I finally recommend the game? Yes, absolutely for its atmosphere and lovingly details as of course for the enthusiasm and dedication of the devs' team. And here is why in detail: [b]Attention: This is an EA-Review![/b] Another awesome game from WinterSpringGames and a worthy successor of CS:TI. But players, keep in mind: the game is EA and still needs a lot of polishing. What is there already is absolutely amazing, somewhat equal to CS:TI, somewhat completely different. Devs working on bug reports immediately and their co-operation with the Discord and Steam communities is brilliant. That's what good game development is made of. So what's the "name of the game"? First and foremost: Survival, but this time in a dark forest, not on a shiny and bright Tropical Island like before. To survive crafting tools and weapons, building shelters and providing food are mandatory. Some recipes are very like the same to CS:TI, some are brandnew mainly the cooking. Of course, weather, fauna and flora are completely different. Where as rainy and dry season were dominant at CS:TI, in CS:FF the focus lies on the four natural seasons and their impacts on how to survive the wilderness (plenty of game and fresh river water from spring to fall, almost none and frozen rivers in winter). Perfecting your hunting and combat skills is a must, foraging the different areas a nice-to-have. Warm and waterproof clothing will help the player to survive the harsh days of winter ... And what about the "Fantasy" of the forest? Imho fantasy is not the correct expression for what the player can expect of the world he is about to explore. Fantasy as a game genre is connected to magical creatures like dwarves, elves, orcs or other supernatural monsters (except from vampires and werewolves - this is no horror here!) and performing powerful spells like fireballs or some such. As to that maybe "Magical Forest" would do the trick. But of what I have experienced till now I prefer and appreciate the word "shamanism" as most appropriate as magic/fantasy in this game contains (by now) enchanting amulets and staffs, releasing spirits of wild animals and starting pyres for chanting / calling the spirits of the forest.
