The soundtrack and Music from Chris Hülsbeck alone is worth the purchase....when i hear this from the beginning in the menu screen , i have this special Turrican feeling , and i am right at home....but the shmup itself has a very good gameplay , a very good flow and is polished ...Thank you DrBossKey and Chris Hülsbeck

I have bought this game today and have already spent almost 3.5 hours with it. My first impressions: It is a very good shmup and that is unfortunate because it could have been a milestone.
The presentation is amazing, I just love the art style that is used here. The one eyed monsters remind me of Deathsmiles a lot. The devs have outdone themselves here.
Sound is good, but the music lacks the same attention to detail that went into the looks. It is not bad, just not as good as the outstanding visuals. If you compare the likes of Cave or Qute, that offer songs with a very high production value that can be listened to on their own, it is not on the same level unfortunately.
Game and level design is fun, there are quite a few very good ideas here with the amazing number of weapons, the pacifist mode where you need to play a part of the level without shooting enemies, the collectibles and xtras that pop up, there is just a lot happening on screen that keeps you moving all the time. Excellent!
Unfortunately I really miss a faster mode that could make the game even more exciting, when combined with a focus movement mode. Again, if you compare the speed at which patterns fly at you in Cave or Touhou games, there is room for a faster mode here.
If the music and speed were improved this could have been as good as Deathsmiles I, the graphics and level design are there.
Still, this is an amazing work by an indie developer showcasing what the new Shmup creator engine is capable of. Go and support their work, it is well worth the money and I can almost guarantee that you will enjoy clearing this game. Send a postcard from that island!
