On the Fun Scale, this game lands somewhere between "cleaning an oven" and "intractable diarrhea." It's surprising, given that games with three equally bad names are usually a home run... As a matter of fact, it concerns me that the developer STILL refers to the game on its Steam game page as Folding Edge, Folding Space AND Starship Helmet. Purple Helmeted Love Warriors, anyone? Sure, why not? In other words, if a developer doesn't take a basic step such as choosing one name, how much time do you think they will spend putting a decent game forward? No soup for you!

I've got the 1st round clear. Good job, actually it is better than I expected. The group making this game should then continue to modify the details to make it better.

Basically I can't play this game. Combat often glitches and you can't do anything. Update: solution to this problem from dev is to change my system language to english, which isn't the best solution, because english isn't my first language and I used to my native language on my windows. And I played a game a little and so far didn't want to play more.

Nice little rogue like game - nothing too serious but quite well made. Needs a little work but perfectly playable - once you work out that to move you have to click your target. Good English translation - though not in all places so somethings are not clear as to what they do. But good little game from a solo dev! ** Update ** New version today has added a much simpler discovery mechanism and a Hex grid. Plays very well and the movement of AI ships is a lot more interesting. Love the worm holes and the optional consequences.

UPDATED VERSION (March 2020) + Game has changed name from Starship Helmet, but same card style battles + campaign. No tutorial but clearer translations, so expect to jab at it for the first couple of games, it becomes obvious soon. Enjoyable. Improved balance, campaign and new special weapons, plus crew that can improve cards. - At first glance the new graphics look worse. Still a couple of Chinese parts. Easy to guess the meanings by jabbing at them. [In the original game entire cards might be in Chinese - seems fixed.] UPDATED VERSION (Nov 2019) ++ Same excellent card based play but... Much better campaign map than original. Now a hex style rather than forked. Bizarre alien helmet option, lol, lick them to death! (old review) Card play based game. Learned bit by getting killed many games. + Careful strategy needed to get through limited choice of space routes. Big boss type space station at end of each level. Use the right weapon / shield cards needs thought. Don't waste missiles (limited ammo) on targets if lasers work fine. Difficult choices on upgrade or repair at some stations. Upgrade may improve defence / attack, but you need to fix the hull damage to survive. Nice graphics. Stable - no game crashes. - No tutorial (English). At least one card still in Japanese [edit - it is Chinese]. Some trivial spelling errors. As I'm not a card game player, what some cards mean is obscure. Trading: when visiting some planets there may be a storyline, perhaps? I can't tell... Game enjoyable, so hopefully a more complete English version will come in updates.
