There's no other way to say it, this game is just horrible.
The units tend to get stuck on each other as they move, and if you try and move some infantry with some tanks, prepare for pain as they all love to bunch together.
Tanks will also act as if they're over-sized infantry. I don't know how else to word it, but anyone who's played Company of Heroes before will know what a tank *should* be like. They are not like that in this game.
Your air-support can also be shot down, which at first isn't exactly a problem. Until you realise you have to "buy" more for your army to replace it. It's a nice idea on paper, and it's an interesting problem to face at first. But after the second or the third time, it gets very old, very quick.
So, if the game is so bad, why am I recommending it?
Simply put, this is the only RTS game I know of that is set in this era. Tanks arrive by CH-54 Tarhe's, and infantry by CH-37 Mojave's. Walker Bulldog's fight side-by-side with M59's, all while F-86 Sabres fly CAS.
This is a game set in the early stages of the Cold War, at a time when the US and the Soviet Union were fielding a large number of wacky and iconic vehicles. As a lover of this period of history, even with all the flaws this game has, I still have a soft spot for it, and I'm sure other lovers of the early Cold War will also find that same soft spot too.
