i try skater XL but i just fall. like every second. skate board not listen to me. i press button and guy do crazy dance, not skate.
levels all empty. no people, no ramps, just sad streets. i want to do kickflip but i do belly flop.
controls too many buttons. i forget which one jump, which one bail. broke my controller throwing it.
camera spins crazy. i get dizzy and throw up.
no music, just wind and my tears.
FINAL SCORE: 0 outta 10, i no skate, i break

best skate game on PC love making edits and getting clips and skating with the homies is the best but the thing this game lacks is support from the devs which they only put out a few community made maps which isn't even thoughtful anymore because the console part of the xl community have be waiting for either a stats menu or some type of physics change to the game and it doesn't seem likely because the devs have completely abandon the game for what feels like years but on pc once you get all the mods and things of that nature the game will feel alive again sadly to say this game is kind of in the gutter and has been for awhile now which sucks because this game has so much potential for what it couldve and still could be if the devs ever step up and start updating the game according to what the community has been asking for, for years now

Once you get to grips with the controls they end up feeling really intuitive and you can really be creative with your skateboarding. With that said, the community map feature is good however it feels lacking and like something is missing in terms of gameplay. Unfortunately to get the full experience with the game you really have to install mods from 3rd parties as they really allow you to control how everything feels and really neaten up the game.
would recommend if you're willing to go do all that.

a lot like Nacon with Session, I kinda own portions of this game through an everything transfer. One of the best open feeling baseline games for thinking about Unity. Lots of great trick ability, I'm fine with keeping to the heavier tech tricks in Session. Full recommend on this game. There was a dispute regarding legality of mod use, just don't mess with the default gravity settings too much and don't abuse stuff online and the official updates make sense.

this game is good but has problems. desperately needs to mainstream the stat menu and board breaking, wear and tear, cloth physics, ext. feels really good. but the lack of consistent game play holds it back. with mods its a great experience. but even then your stuck doing flat ground and rails{street skating} because the vert is so wonky. the impact of lands is there , more so then skate 3. but needs better animations for landing sketchy, or bails. i havent seen bails done good since tony hawk p8. most games now just use ragdoll physics and bad ones at that. when i bail i want it to feel like i just hurt myself. not like the soul of my character just left his body. need animations for walking away from bails that arent as bad. if a flatground flick trick fails then it shouldnt feel like my guy just gave up on life. all in all still a solid game and worth the money. just needs constant attention from the devs which im not sure it will get seeing how it's development has been going.

I loved this game only because of the modding scene, but other than that there's nothing to it. I've bought the game originally on the xbox and even with the gravity physics sucking I enjoyed the game. Now, I wouldn't even be able to switch back to the base game. The modding community is there some what, but the game is dead and there hasn't even been a update since 2023. Complete radio silence from the dev team. Now, I do love the game and find it fun but if you asked me " should I cop Skater XL. I would only say if you find it on a deal or if you are ready to mod the game completely. It's sad to see the game I loved just be left alone

Have sunk 120 hours into this game and all of those hours are thanks to modders after the game is abandoned by the devs.
Even coming back to it with the mods, it's just sad knowing the modding community is dragging this corpse of a game around and doing the devs jobs for them.
