just got back into this game and it really is alot of fun. i love the thunderstorms at night while racing. no it is not a sim, its just good clean fun. works great with my tspc wheel and fanatec v3 pedals. i did have to crank up the force feedback though. and my next level racing hf8 seat pad works good to add to the immersion.

First I just want to say I knew that it's an arcade game beforehand, and different than PC 1 and 2. I'm a fan of both sim and arcade racing. I just like to race. I mainly use my wheel for sims, and xbox controller or steam deck for acrade. I mainly play racing games, so I am not a noob.
PC 3 is just a bad game. The rubber banding ai is game breaking to me. Following a pack of cars and matching their speed, but getting thrown against a wall at a turn, while the ai cars go turn at full speed is beyond absurd. I played around with the settings but nothing improves this. I can tolerate a certain amount of rubber banding, but this is the worst I've ever seen.
Only played this on my steam deck and I can report it does run well on the steam deck. Solid 60 fps. That's the only positive thing, but it's not enough and I'm getting a refund.

Don’t believe the Reviews!
I discarded this game at launch and almost 5 year’s later I picked the game up again on Console, feeling like there was no new compelling racing games, I gave it another chance. (10 Hours on Console then I payed full price for the game On Steam and I have been playing on an OLED Steamdeck since)
The first thing I started to notice was that the Physics are way better than expected! I get PC3 is a far different feeling game then PC2, but that doesnt make it bad.
I enjoyed PC2 with a wheel, its the game that literally made me buy a wheel as it was impossible with a controller.
And this is where the controversy begins, PC3 is very much a casual pick up and go experience, made for controller above anything else.
The Game really should have been called something like: Project Cars Motorsport or something.
Because it really does feel like a difficult game, and the physics may not be the Sim physics that PC1-2 fans love, but they are by no means bad!
The body roll of the Suspension, wheel’s literally lifting off the ground going around a corner when not tuned well, the effect of physics with rain etc, is all top notch and very fun feeling.
The upgrade system feels dynamic and certain upgrades will throw the car right out. Supercharge the engine to max but nothing else? Expect to have long Reving between gears on Automatic and a car that missiles into walls.
Upgrading and fine tuning your cars is very satisfying in PC3.
The tracks are great too, some more than others, and weather effects make it even more dynamic.
The pricing of the game is a huge let down!
90AUD for a old game plus 50 for season pass is beyond a joke! But for me the game is that fun, that I wanted all it had to offer on the Steamdeck.
The visual customisation is quite good to, especially having Number plate customisation.
Theres plenty more I can say but really, I would just say, give it a go.
