A quick, deeply emotional puzzle platformer. You will not understand things until the ending cutscene, so WATCH IT. The puzzles can be very ridiculous, so if you get stuck, there is a great video guide.

This is probably the most boring "game" I've ever played. As a piece of art, its cool. It's hardly worth calling a game though. If you were to simply watch a Youtube video of it then you'd essentially be getting the same experience bec the majority of the time you are just watching cut scene after cut scene anyway. The actions sequences are hardly action, there is no challenge to enemies, clunky controls and no challenge to puzzles. Dont waste your money or more importantly, your time.

very sad and a little confusing, but the confusion is a worthy sacrifice for the sense of mystery it gives off. on game play fronts I've never seen such a way to make bad game design work. in 99% of games if the character took 10 minuets to get across the map with no (practical) fast travel, that would be considered tedious. And rightly so, but because the theme of the game the tediousness is acually a good thing for me. The appeal of this game is using the medium of video games in a unique way. not for epic gameplay or a movie with shooting levels, but a story you experience in a more personal way just because you are controlling the characters. It's definitely not for everyone, but I definitly liked it. and remember this review is without spoilers, and if i was to include spoilers it would be a lot longer and more positive.

So, fair warning, this is not the adventure platformer/metroidvania you might expect from the trailer. This is a three hour story with light platforming and puzzle elements. And it's a good story! Emotionally resonant and very well presented. If you're in the mood for a bittersweet interactive movie with stunning pixel animation, highly recommended. If you're looking for another Hollow Knight, this is not that game.

It's such a beautiful game, one of the best games I've played. I honestly don't know why it doesn't get as much love as it should but it's definitely a hidden gem, especially for those who love dark psychological horror and deep emotional moments. Few games ever hit me really hard but I cried playing this, there are quite a few trigger warnings, self-harm, suicide, death, spiders... obvious by the trailer, neglect, and parental abuse. Just to name the ones I remember. I played and got this game as soon as it was released and thoroughly enjoyed the story, art, and characters, yet I completed it in 3.9H. So if you want an extremely deep game, with a great story, that doesn't take up much time to complete no matter how slow you play... this is for you.
