It took me 10 minutes to get into the game because I had to create a ubisoft account and the system for receiving password resets is worse than a kindergarten site. fuck ubisoft, I hope ac shadow puts a nice nail in the coffin.

Requires a Ubisoft Connect account. After registration, you are asked for an activation code to link the Steam game to it. This happened in 2025.

Good resource/logistics manager with that's as easy or hard as you want to make it. It has some parts of a city builder but at its core it isn't that but you can definitely make the cities pretty and unique if you want. Wait for a sale and get the full pack, the DLC are pretty good imo.

I had fun, The game was interesting and kept me engaged. I had a few crashes and at some points I felt like I didn't understand some of the functions of the game but that's how playing a new game usually is. Over all it was fun and I got the hang of it quickly. My own personal recommendation is if at all possible to buy it on discount.

Great game the only thing that ruins it is that awful ubisoft launcher, can't seem to play the game any more on day 2. Says another account of mine owns the game (likely when I used to play it on game pass but now own it on steam). Then I sign in to the account it suggests and wants an activation code that I don't have on steam. Urg Ubisoft you are killing your games with these silly launchers!

I finally reach 1000+ hours playing, and it's not hard to guess that this game is really be my comfort game. I didn't expect much when I bought this but I can say it is worth it. While I'm not really play many games of similar genre before, this one is by far the best I've played. Recommended.

good game but randomly after a few hours of gameplay the UI just dissapears and im forced to Alt+F4 or end via Task Manager and that is pretty annoying, thankfully no progress lost so far Edit: Literally minutes after writing the review i launched the game and found some of my progress is missing

After spending 30 hours with Anno 1800 and completing the campaign on normal difficulty, I’d rate the game a solid 7/10. The variety of building options is impressive, offering deep and rewarding gameplay as you manage cities during the Industrial Revolution. However, while Anno 1800 excels in its complexity and visuals, it doesn’t surpass Anno 1404 as my favorite in the series. The medieval-inspired setting and art style of Anno 1404 felt more timeless and charming to me. Anno 1800 is still a great experience, but its industrial theme may not appeal to everyone as much as earlier entries.

It takes longer to load ubisoft connect than to get to the main menu of the actual game that you purchased. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the game (says it on my game time of review), but having to log in to another server just to play a game on steam is just silly. Also, I mostly play single player, so if I ever travel and don't have internet, I can't even load the game. So only get this if its in a heavy discount, don't pay full price.
