Hits all the right beats for a single player CCG-RPG, with a simple but well executed story, very smooth gameplay, and a card game that starts out simple, becomes more strategic, and eventually degenerates into pure broken degeneracy. The DLC is also another dose of the same quality.
As for downsides, they don't try to offset the first player advantage at all and the more broken the mechanics get the better it is to go first. This is not really a problem in the story, although it does force you to reset until you get to go first against the really difficult "Challenges." It also kind of diminishes the Roguelite Gauntlet mode IMO since luck of the draw outweighs so much else. I also wish they would give you some recognition for beating the Challenges before accessing the most broken stuff yourself. There were a fair number of bugs and crashes.
