I like the pacing.
I wish we got more dirt though. I wanna raise my hills more.

An adorable game that takes the oft ignored question of "what happens after the world is saved" and turns it into an enjoyable life sim. Well balanced, with enough complexity to make it interesting, but not so much it becomes overwhelming. Reminds me a lot of the earlier versions of SV with an art style that makes me think of playing Pokemon on my Gameboy back in the day.

I don't mind farm sims or town builders, but I feel the game missed the mark for me.
While it presents a chill atmosphere and a stress free environment at first glance, moving forward with the game story/objectives is tediously slow making it frustrating. The problem comes in from a small energy bar which dictates how many actions you can take in a day (which are not many) and a good number of the game's objectives being tied to RNG.
I wanted a relaxing game where I could develop friendships with the townspeople and improve on the town while also exploring different landscapes and ended up getting a very large and annoying to complete To Do list. I hope my hours + all achievements earned for this game says something about that.
If you want a risk free game where skill is basically non existent
(aside from an easy to win card game)
and you can kick back and relax, this game might be for you. If you want what I just said with many customizable options for your town (Takes a while to unlock a good number of them), places to explore and build friendships with townspeople then this game is not for you.

I refuse to believe that this control scheme was made by
- a human
- software developer
- that has touched a game after the DOS era.
First things first, it's not configurable. Not just in the GUI, at all, there's not even a text config file. (Or it's buried so deep nobody's found it yet.) Did this mofo hard-code the controls into the binary? How do you mess up something so simple and standard and at the same time manage to make a functional and overall good game? Is this this person's first development experience and they started with the controls and never went back to fix them?
But, that would be at least somehow excusable if the default (only) controls were decent. Are they? Oh boy.
The closest thing to a sensible keyboard control scheme is arrows for movement, X to action/confirm and Z for back/menu. Yes, they've managed to Nintendo layout the fucking keyboard! Z accept and X back has been the standard for RPGMaker games, emulators and pretty much every game similar to this one for as long as I can remember. The resulting experience is the same as when trying to use the Switch after years of playing on any other controller from this century. As soon as I forget about it and immerse myself into the game I find myself opening the menu in front of whatever NPC or object I want to interact with, or accept an action when I wanted to cancel it.
The Steam Deck control scheme is marginally better, if bizarre. Left stick for movement, only. The arrows do worse than nothing, the side arrows go up and down in menus and up and down arrows do nothing. Also, the menu button is unbound, only B opens the menu. The run button was also bizarre, one of the back buttons I think? But that's fixable with a custom control scheme, it's how I've played my current 15 hours and why I initially wanted to give a good review, before trying to play it on keyboard and on my Xbox controller.
Because guess what, the Xbox controller controls are even worse! As in, they're as bad as the Steam Deck controls, but the game somehow bypasses Steam Input (at least on the Deck and other Linux, on which I play it), making them as non-configurable as the keyboard ones! Yay!
How? How do you fuck up such a basic thing so bad? And in so many ways? HOW?!?

An enjoyable game to kill some time. It's a simpler Stardew Valley-esque little game where instead of running a farm, you get to build a complete village from scratch along with bunch of NPC's, some of who are your former companions in an epic quest to defeat an evil wizard that you longer remember because you lost your memory after the final battle. It's much more fast-paced than most games of this kind I've played, but it's fun enough.

Littlewood is a cute, quaint, relaxing game. The mechanics are simple and easy to figure out. I've only unlocked the town, forest and caverns but there's plenty of shadowed and locked areas to explore in the future. The customization is high. You don't get to choose color scheme of almost anything but you do get to rearrange the town as often as you want, build your townsfolk furniture, and even rearrange the foliage in town and add new ones. The graphics are simple but that's relaxing in its own way. If you're a cozy gamer looking for something uncomplicated and easy to play while watching an episode of Kitchen Nightmares, then this is perfect for you.

A delightful little story about a hero who saved the world, lost his memory, and is now tasked with rebuilding a town. Just look at the graphics. It's cozy to the extreme; and you can create beautiful towns, get married, chop down forest trees, go fishing and lots of stuff like that. The music is soothing too, especially the forest song.

It's a pretty okay cozy game, but it really lacks depth and the progression of things is badly timed in general and locked behind RNG in several instances.
Also do not play this if you're a completionist. Fully half my play time was just grinding out the resource gathering to get the achievements even though there is absolutely no post game (unless you're one of those people who liked designing their ACNH island but wished there were fewer decoration options).
