The original was great. The remastered does it justice. One of the best TW originals. A shame the direction they've been heading in, but at least we have the classics.

The software for the battles is far inferior to the original Rome Total War. Why on Earth did you not ensure it was as user friendly as the original version??? This was very poor product design and control and, moreover, raises big issues concerning you product quality control and product design capabilities!

The game is very good but the Difficulty and diplomacy system is very trash. The difficulty change between easy and hard is the troops skill and moral decreases and economy which is ok. Other thing which is annoying... is the sustainability about cityes because the AI can keeps up a citiy with one troop but for me sometimes a full army doesn't enought to avoid rebellion.Diplomacy is also trash because you make alliance with someone after few round he will attack you or broke for no reason and can't do a great battle where you can fight next to with your alliance. At first rounds almost all factions want to attack you. When I do a request for xy attack xy then they don't do it... 3/5 for be but I like this game

This is a great remaster, and well worth the time of any fan of Total War or ancient history. It plays and feels a lot like Medieval 2, in the best of ways, and retains all the old charm the original had. It complements the nostalgia with a better battle camera, better unit controls, and better unit models and textures to boot. It also retains all the old quirks the old game had, such as AI that often behaves nonsensically. Nevertheless, I would put this remaster miles ahead of Rome 2, or any of Creative Assembly's other forays into Roman history. It's a solid remaster, and I hope they give Medieval 2 a similar treatment soon.

Great remaster, especially being able to toggle the new features on or off to still get more of an original game experience. Played the original for a longtime and this brings back the classic.

The A.I is so bad the game is unplayable, devoid of any fun on the campaign mode, they will never expand, attack or make any logical decisions. The original title honestly had better A.I. Only worth buying if you intend to play with mods.

I could complain about the UI but honestly it just feels like the spirit of the devs wasn't in it at this point. So much more could've been done with this remaster and it's a tremendously wasted opportunity.

Nice additions like better graphics and controls and it even runs better than the original due to it playing nicer with newer cpus. The new UI is sleeker but I am nostalgic for the old look. All in all if you are a fan of the old Rome: Total War or haven't played it yet this is a great game.
