Love this game! I like the freedom to move around the map and not being restricted to route like previous version. This allows innovative movement to isolate enemies.

If you like ruler based ROTK games then Koei did a good job here overall. The most important parts like AI aggressiveness, battles and UI are all in a good state. The game suffers from a high degree of balance issues mid-late game as you'll have so much gold you wont know what to do with it as well as some trivialization of diplomacy and difficulty by forcing compliance with other AI factions via that surplus. I can see where some players may not enjoy the direction battles went due to the lack of control. However after spending some time with it I enjoy the streamlined speed efficiency as well as a bit of immersion factor like how things didn't always go according to plan in the novels. The biggest con for me is the price point being so high still and a ton of base level content being locked behind DLC.
