Cute, humorous, and a bit playfully juvenile at times. The art and music are pretty good. The writing is ok, but this story is mostly for the smut. The 3 character paths overlap a lot. The 3 demons are oddly relate-able due to their backstories. I suppose the point is that we all have some emotional baggage. I guess I'd give it a 7 out of 10.

TLDR I wish I liked it more.. The art is decent for most of the routes and such, musics good, and if you can ignore the fact that they use every word you can ever thing of for D!ck/f*cking ect besides the actual words then the fun scenes arent too bad. Downside was that I could not. I've also played pub encounter so I know they could have gone harder but it is what it is. For the price though (without the cheat sheet) its worth it for what you get. Mildly spicy but goofy p0rn game. Id say the biggest let down was not having a harem ending despite the cover art and how youve got a dom a switch and a sub along with your character but then again with one being a hard core monogamous dude thats not really an option. Theres nothing wrong with it, Im just no better than Percival is all. I bought the cheat sheet and sped through the already played convos and I do kind of wish there was more variation in the lewd scenes based on how well/poor you do as a wizard or even in most of the choices you make rather than how the characters react later ect. The routes are pretty upfront, Harse is husband material, and Soren is best boy as long as you respect him, as you should. Karns route in general was just.. no. Even the "good" ending sucked but tbf it was well warned and advertised but I still thought i should give it a shot. Low key regret it. Well.. midkey regret it. Kind of wish they'd left the trauma backstories out of it because they touched on it for like 5 minutes, and love fixed them but like.. idk I gave it a shot but gay pedo stuff, or real torture and mindbreak, is not really the rep I want even if its from the villain..

Tentative recommendation, but this game has little storyline, and content. It's mostly designed to be quicky-solo wank fodder for BL fetishists and not queer individuals seeking representation in romantic stories or a sophisticated wank. TW: Sexual assault, slavery, consensual BSDM, emotional abuse, incest proposition, paedophilia/child abuse, death. CN: Demons, sexual content, sexual exchange/coercion. Pros *Trigger warnings listed on the store page are adequate. *This game is pretty easy going and simple, no filler, straight to the cute demon boys you want to romance. *Bonus points for Karn, (who I wanted to romance in a previous game). *Bad ends aren't too bad, they don't contain (clear) death (regardless of what the store page says), however one does include unintentional sexual assault. Cons *Tired trope 1) As a self identified yaoi game, this is likely to cater specifically to straight women who fetishise or otherwise explore their sexuality through BL, and not for gay men seeking to see themselves in media. One impact of this female gaze of MLM relationships is the rigid categorisation of seme/uke for most characters. *Tired trope 2) MC identifies as straight and doesn't want to have sex with male demons but has to. Default straight protagonist and reverse-conversion vibes, is common in yaoi games, further indicating these are not for the queer community. *Speaking of conversion vibes; I was hoping one of the routes would be an asexual route but it was more of a 'find the right way to sexually cure them'. This sucked as this is something people try to do in real-life, you know, to queer people. I would have preferred them showing a semi-sexual or non-sexual relationship as a possible happy ending. *Unclear endings: The store page indicates some bad ends have the MC die, I think this isn't very clear as those endings are so abrupt it's unclear anything more than MC talking to himself is actually happening. Not sure if some content is missing in those. *Childish language during what should be erotic scenes. 'Bunghole' 'Pickle/meat Popsicle' etc I don't think they use normal phrases for privates once in this story, the weird nicknames that make it sound like it was written by giggling teenagers. Not to kinkshame, but anyone who can stay in the zone while hearing something like 'fiddle my bunghole with your meat Popsicle' has some unusual fetish. *Simple story: Not only is the language simple, but the story is extremely simple. It's essentially a single sentence of a storyline. In some play-throughs it spans a year but you don't get much growth or content for that period of time. Bug: In one of the play-throughs a bunch of images are missing and there's just a white page with text over it. I know what images should be there as the scene is in every play-through, so not sure why it's messed up on one of them. Accessibility *Good contrast of text to background for easy reading. *Press V for Self-Voicing (screen reading of dialogue). This isn't mentioned in the menu but is functional. *Trigger warnings are detailed on store page. Controls *Press H to hide text for full images. *Press S for screenshots. *Press F for full-screen. Diversity Pretty barren in the diversity department, which is pretty common for these kinds of games, despite the unlimited potential of fantasy designs. *No women characters, only one mention of an ex girlfriend. But this game has minimal characters, so it's to be expected they'd only be sexual prospects. *An older immortal man, so kinda got an age range, but he's obviously designed to be a ggdilf. *No characters of colour, but we did have a blue demon. ... *cough* *No physically disabled characters, but several have mental illness. Suggestions: 1) Remember to include in the settings the built in commands that people can us for accessibility. the self reading option is extremely valuable for visually impaired individuals and it should be a point of pride that you can provide this! Put it in the store page, and include it in the settings. 2) Consider more diversity in your characters. Different body types, ages, ethnicity, and disabilities can be normalised through representation.

This time I'm making it a negative review, despite me wanting to give endless support for these type of games... But this one, just like the other Y Press Game I played, just isn't worth it and I'm already wondering if it becomes a typical thing for them? I just wish, instead of pushing out game after game (I didn't forget about that failed one), they'd actually put some effort into the projects they're working on? It's like the incredible ideas they come up with are completely wasted on them, to be painfully honest.. Just like with the other game, this one has a good story base. Nice characters. But it all falls flat, because there's just no actual meaning to it all. There's no depth. No development. Nothing. It's just "These are the circumstances. Enjoy the steam rolls!" And while steamy stuff sure as heck is a selling point, it just isn't something that can carry the game through on it's own. I played one of the routes, had a bit of a relapse trauma from the game I previously played and dropped it aside to maybe come back to it later, but.. weeks later I still don't want to come back to it because it's just not worth it. There's nothing to come back to except for half-assed smex and wasted story ideas. It's just deeply frustrating. Hence why I will not recommend this game. You can get it. But you probably shouldn't.

Good porn should have engaging plot and interesting characters, because how else would you feel for your proxy - the protagonist? What else makes you feel? What else draws you in? My Magical Demon Lover, sadly, has none of the above. It depends heavily on archetypes and so expects that you somehow fill all the plot holes and add details yourself, because you know the genre well enough, don't you? You picked the game about wizardry and demons, so you might know a thing or two about them. Do I need to add that this didn't work at all. This is just a lack of content. Not only the world is not shown, we hardly know anything about main characters, including the protagonist and what we unexpectedly do know is almost always said, not shown. The novel is very short and almost nothing happens, and these little things that happen, are never shown. We just have a variety of sex scenes and that't basically it. The scenes are not bad, mostly thanks to the artists, but "censorship" which ends in usage of words like "schlong" totally ruins any mood the scene tries to establish. The genitals are never shown as well, so, sadly, even sex is not hot here. The only saving grace of this game is its art, although it features works from a few different artists which is a bit confusing and ruins all the immersion there could be, especially since some of the artists are far less skilled. Having said that, this is my final judgement. Pros: + idea + art (some of it) Cons: - the absence of plot - tell, don't show - 2-dimensional characters - verbal and visual censorship - art from different artists As I stated above, the idea is good. There is so much that could be done with it, but wasn't.

It almost feels like a shame to give this game a negative rating as the music, character designs, art style, and even the basic premise all have potential. However, I could not play much of it as I became far too uncomfortable. There are ways of doing comedy erotica properly, this is not it. I should have expected it to be uncomfortable the moment I saw the "yaoi" and "ecchi" descriptions but I'm willing to give things a chance if I like the look of the style, though as a man who is attracted to men I do not feel like this game was created with people like myself in mind. As other reviews have mentioned there are no trigger warnings for more sensitive and upsetting themes that are features and they are played out as erotic concepts rather than genuinely traumatic situations. All warnings featured in this game revolve around the fact that the characters are all men and all sexual situations are between men which makes it seem as if being gay is something uncomfortable or dirty which really pushes how heavily fetishised gay men are here. The main character expresses on multiple occasions at the start that he is not attracted to men and is not fully consenting to any sexual interaction with other men, a common trend in the rather questionable yaoi genre. The attempts at comedy often come off as forced and the "erotic" scenes are made embarrassing and ridiculous by the use of childish language such as "bung hole". The creators' choice of language makes it seem as if they were too embarrassed to use the actual terms which makes me wonder whether erotica is really the genre for them. I hate to say that I regret spending money on this, I really should have done more research before purchasing. This game makes light of serious topics and heavily fetishises mlm people in some of the worst ways and only managed to remind me of why I grew out of my yaoi phase in the first place. The fact the creators felt that the players needed to be reminded on several occasions that all the characters are men and that this is a gay man only added to the ridiculousness of it all. Also the fact they thought that we needed to be warned that it involved homoerotic situations but were entirely comfortable including jokes about incest, non consensual situations, and concepts of "sexual favours" under coercion without any real warning says all one needs to know.

Lets see--if you're a fan of yaoi/bl or just plain visual novels(perhaps), I'd reccommend this game. Percival sent a flying letter, which crash landed in tristan's bedroom, asking to come immeditaely to his uh--lets call it ' Percival's castle(?) Tristan was quite excited and so he though that he would be percival's mentor but when he arrived to his place..i'm guessing he was quite sad that that wasn't the case, but, an apprentice. Percival wanted days-months-years off to escape to his vacation paradise---- so now, since Tristan has the whole place to himself he chooses which partner to pick to learn about magics and becoming a full fledge wizard one day~ I'd rate this vn 10/10 the cg and story line is quite exquiste and in my opinon, i think i like karn's route, but that's just me

I really wanted to like this game. I'm a queer boy myself, I love seeing BL stuff with pretty art and spicy storytelling, and the packaging made this seem like an awesome VN. It's not. The art for the static 'conversation' dummies is a drastically higher quality than the CGs, which is disappointing. The plot is very generic, which wouldn't be a problem except you get barely a sniff of backstory or world building whatsoever. There's no personality to the setting or the characters, Generic Boy and Pervy Uncle, and the three love interests are very boilerplate stereotypes of Kind Top, Sadistic Switch, and Fetish Guy (idk I didn't play the third route) who have almost.... no development. The story has a couple of scenes with Tristan, the Generic Boy, struggling with his very trite, unnecessary fear of doing something with another man, before going in for the sake of power (Gay for Pay? Really?) and discovering he maybe likes doing the nasty with a demon man. There's very, very little character or relationship development, and it time skips to an extremely bland, one-note epilogue that's exactly the same between characters, barring a couple dialogue changes, after getting through the one-hour-tops ''romance'' route. And before anyone cries 'lol who wants plot in a porn game', 1. I do, and 2. the porn is also bad. Like, a 16yo straight girl with a Wattpad account for Yaoi fangirling could and has done better. I'm disappointed as a gay person. I'm disappointed as a writer and digital artist who knows the effort these projects take and STILL got mad at the low quality. And I'm disappointed as a player and smut game enthusiast who unwrapped a shiny present to find that the wrapping was all it had going for it. For the record, I tried to refund this game, it upset me so much, and I wasn't allowed to because I'd gone AFK at one point and my timer went over. Since then, I've reinstalled and replayed it to see if I was unfair to it the first time, and frankly, no, I wasn't. 5.8 hours on record, final verdict: it's just not good.

This game lures you in with it's promise of NSFW content but doesn't deliver story wise. It sets up an interesting narrative only to bombard you with lewd scene after lewd scene. There's no depth or even a satisfying conclusion to this story. It's boring. I like NSFW content but this is too much even for me. I wanted NSFW content with an interesting story but got a badly written bdsm simulator with some fantasy elements instead. The music is good though, and the art isn't unpleasant to look at. The demon outfits are really creative. But that's not enough to make up for how much it lacks in every other category. Don't buy this game. it's not worth spending your time or money on.

This game is fucking ridiculous. I'm a grown damn woman, I can handle the words c/ck and d/ck. It's the equivalent of a fart joke, basically. Some people still find that funny. Some people have grown up and want a real game with a real story. This? HAH. I just loaded it up and showed it to my friend to make a joke out of it, if that tells you anything.
