Factory Town is a satisfying automation / resource-management game with simple but pleasing graphics and challenging but forgiving gameplay. The mechanics are easy to learn but difficult to master, and you can delve as deeply into the mechanics as you want. In my ~230 hours of gameplay at the time of writing this review, I only really scratched the surface of the logic mechanics that exist in this game. You start by building a small settlement, figuring out how to get enough food, lumber, and other resources you need to expand. Eventually, you have a network of multiple towns with different specialties (farming, lumber, artistry, etc.) that interconnect via supply chains. Ultimately, these towns end up looking more like a giant factory than a settlement, with conveyor belts, pipes, and other modes of moving goods prominent. It's very satisfying seeing all of the moving parts that make your Factory Town function! That being said, my biggest complaint probably is the game's UI - it isn't the most attractive or the smoothest to use. Some of the building mechanics also are a bit rough around the edges. However, once you get the hang of this game's quirks, it's a good time. If you're looking for a chill building game with a focus on logistics and supply chains, give Factory Town a go.

The product is whats on the wrapper. Cozy, supply chain with Fisher Price people and chutes! Feels Good and things seem to fit together pretty well after the small learning curve. Nice way to kill some time making your inner child happy. Might be good for learning with little ones as well if you can get them interested!

Been a surprise hit for me tbh, expected to like it but didn't think it'd be as fun as it is. For me it was the perfect like 'cozy game' type thing. It funnily enough reminds me the most of rollercoaster tycoon. If you like to, you can always keep optimizing and make things more efficient, but I had the most fun just making a bunch of small towns and designing/ decorating them. There's no downside or time crunch, so it doesn't matter how fast you do things. Most of the time I'd just make something that made the materials I wanted slowly, and then spend the rest of my time decorating the towns, changing the layout of what I put down and changing the clothes of my townspeople. You don't lose anything when getting new people/ getting rid of them, moving buildings is free (as long as they're empty) and you get your materials back from destroying basically anything. That made it really easy for me to just start out one way, and completely change it partway through without any downsides or pressure to design it perfectly from the start The campaign is nice to get an idea of how things work, and slowly figure out the game, but it's not mandatory if you want to just jump in. The campaign levels have fun layouts and start partway through so you can skip the beginning part and dive into the challenge part.

I think this game is awesome and I have spent a lot of hours into it. A very cozy factory game with nice music/sounds and a nice overall vibe to it. I have not played so much automation games and this is perhaps not for everyone because of how much changes in supply chains can effect what you already have set up , and that suddenly your perfect networks stops working because of new situations that you need to make changes for - but I think it's a very nice thing about this game that you need to rethink and rebuild. I really like the Happiness feature that you get production boost within the town centre area that makes you really value space and try to squeze in as much production you can and also increase happiness to expand that area. It's quite easy to learn but a bit harder to master and it can be quite advanced if you want it to. Also it can probably be a little bit overwhelming after a while but I guess that goes for most games in the factory / automation genre. I thought that the lack of difficulty (you can't really screw up without being able to recover) would get to me after a while but still after hundreds of hours I think it's just a lovely and cozy game and I make the game interesting by trying to do more complicated things and using copute blocks trying to maximize output. And of course, Trains :) On the negative side there are some features that are not explained in game and the wiki is not fully updated but all my questions I have found answers to by the community. Also it get's a little grindy in endgame if you are trying to get the currency for the upgrades you can do in the later part of the game. Overall a big recommendation if you want a cozy game with some advanced features and you are satisfied that the difficulty level are not very high. I don't think you can fail.

Not amazing. Not terrible. There's just way better automation games out there. I'd rather play Satisfactory or Dyson Sphere Project again.
