Don't waste your money or time. I played another game by this developer called "Deadly Escape" which takes place in the same universe as this game... kind of a prequel. I'd give Deadly Escape a 7/10 and this turd a 2/10. The potential for fun and gameplay is totally there, but too many frustrating components. To name a few, you have no direct control over your zombies. You can make a huge horde to push into areas but they may walk into a laser barrier or flame turret aimlessly and you just went from 68 Zeds to 23. Also the character faces to the right instead of the last direction you went to. Say your trying to kill a reinforcement guard and he's head to you (cuz you're out of Zeds) and the entrance requires you to face the left. you have to time moving to the left and attack at the same time, which if there are anymore guards following that one put you in the line of fire. If it's an entrance where you face the right, no problem. Also sometimes game make level breaking glitches such as sub weapons getting blocked for no reason. The pacing is weird too. Starts off easy, then gets difficult for first 10-12 levels? The n you have two levels where you start maxed out power and blow through them followed by a final level where you revert back to exp level 1. And it is HARD. Incredibly frustrating. I think I spent as much time trying to beat the last level as I did on the other levels combined. Almost uninstalled before I beat it. No level select and when you be it, the menu screen reverts to asking "New Game" as only play option.Lastly, the game did feel repetitive very shortly. Level up from base level almost every mission felt cumbersome. So so much potential, but just NOT FUN. Not even on sale for $3. I'd pay 50 cents and maybe then feel like the only thing that I lost value on was my time. Only reason I beat it was to complete so I could review it 100%.

Its a good 2D action, casual gamewhere you play the role of a mad scientist who got hands on a dead revival serum and tries
to escape the facility. You have to make an army of undead to reach the end. As you progress you have to strategies with the help of few gadgets.
And plz do tell me if you know what causes the reinforcement to arrive so i can prevent it xD. because of it i was hard stuck in stage 2 xDD

Just finished it, it was fun, kinda difficult towards the end but fun. What you see is what you can expect and it's not as brainless as it seems, the later levels make you think about what you're gonna do next and you have to have good timing and be quick. I think 6-7 hours of fun is about right.

Really enjoy this style of game, would like to see more weapon/zombie/soldier types. It would be nice to be able to revive more then 1/3 zombies at a time. Can be annoying when enemies can see you off screen and attack before you have a chance to react. Last level felt like it cranked the difficulty up to 10 which is fine but alot of the times my drone would get stuck on a wall and not work or i would send it out and it would miss its target and have to swing back around. By the time it actually activated i was already dead and had to restart. Wish there was more boss/level interactions besides item pickups and quest pickups that dont really do much.
Zombies would sometimes wander off and the actual zombies attacking wouldnt be enough to take down a strong enemy so you just have to wait for them to come back or risk going in to revive the ones that did. I would like to be able to have some influence on which direction they are going or which target to go for first, instead of hoping they are going the right way.
Other than that the game is really enjoyable and i hope to see a 2nd game that takes this idea farther!

its fun and challenging, with a damn good game play loop.
only gripes are:
the game is short and there's not a lot of replay-ability
the item pickup and displays are bugged
I say, for the price its pretty good and worth picking up.hope they'll be more updates in the future, like a new game plus or DLC that expands the game play.

Undead & Beyond is an unusual kind of hybrid of soldier defense/attack combined with 2D top down brawler and action/adventure game elements... which sounds complicated but it's really a good idea for a game, implemented terribly. The idea is that you're a mad scientist and your bosses are trying to kill you, so you need to escape the lab bunker complex thing. But you're a wimpy, if deranged scientist, so how to go about this? Zombies, of course. Conveniently, your minions don't try to kill you, so you can go ahead and make as many zombies as possible. While the zombies are murdering all the guards and other scientists, you can go about your other jobs like collecting briefcases and working out how to escape.
One important note is that even though this is an amateur project, it does seem to be sincerely and genuinely made. I couldn't find any flipped assets, plagiarism or any other kind of insincere actions from the developer, but unfortunately genuine intentions alone are not enough to produce a brilliant PC gaming experience.
This is a good and fun idea for a game, and it's delightful to watch your minions running around, and those so-called colleagues getting their comeuppance, but the game looks like it's 30 years old... the implementation is amateur hour here and it's just not worth the money for a game with such poor visuals and delivery. There are some complaints around game balance and difficulty, but really, this game doesn't even get off the starting block due to the poor technicals.
From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard.
A choice was made to use obsolete, decades old retro pixel "art" as a substitute for contemporary PC graphics. It's unclear if this is due to lack of budget or talent, regardless, the overall visual quality of the game is extremely low as a result.
While there are options to change the resolution for the game, all this does is scale up the simplistic 2D art assets used to make the game, which makes little or no difference to the graphics quality. Without any other substantial graphics tweaks, it's not possible for gamers to improve the lacklustre 2D visuals.
The controls can't be customised (and they are pretty awkward), which will be an annoyance for many, but it can also render the game unplayable for differently-abled gamers, left handed gamers or gamers using AZERTY or other international keyboard layouts.
These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game.
The poor quality of this game is reflected by how many people spent time with it. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the all-time peak player number was only 7 players. This is a remarkably low number, and now, the only player activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 120 million gamers on Steam and well over 100,000 games for gamers to choose from, the overwhelming lack of interest in this low quality game is to be expected.
So, should you buy this game? Is this one of the best of the 100,000+ games on Steam?
Undead & Beyond has the laughable price of around $6 USD, it's not worth it given the defects and shortcomings with the product, especially considering the sheer number of completely free, much higher quality games on Steam. For comparison, the $6 asking price for this game could get you games like "The Witcher 2", "Assetto Corsa" or "Batman: Arkham Origins". Quality, professionally made games like those are frequently on sale cheaper than this.

The game is very fun. Especially the later levels when mayhem hits top levels.
At first I thought that the game was going to be all smashing key R to keep reviving dead bodies like crazy, but as the game progresses, your zombies aren't enough to fight the soldiers and you need to use strategy with your drones. The levels also throw at you a few objectives to solve while soldiers are raining on you and you try to keep up resurrecting dead bodies.
There is an item I found that helps resurrecting multiple dead bodies at the same time, that and the upgrade thing that let's the zombies infect are godsends.
The music is pretty good, clasic retro style. The lines from the npc dying are very funny. The death animations are cool.
Best thing in the game is the chaos.
So, far The only two downsides I found is that the game does feel a bit dated and saw two death animations getting stuck, nothing game breaking.
An awesome deal for the price. Since it is cheaper than the nintendo switch version.

Turn your kills into zombies to help you fight through labs in colorful pixel explosions, fire, gore. Find the keycard, use the eye scanner and send drones to do some dirty work. I haven't finished the game yet, but have already won with the price tag.
A very well made game indeed. Wreckomendead.

In Undead & Beyond you play a seemingly mad scientist escaping a facility using various tools to infect people and cause chaos to help your escape. The game is actually quite strategic in nature as you are provided with various tools that are very situational. When you have few zombies you also need to use line of sight and corners to help you progress. In each level you typically start with few zombies needing to infect as many bodies as possible as quickly as possible, once you reach a certain infection level your zombies can infect people themselves which is when the chaos ensues. It's a fun mix of chaos and strategy in a single game. The game is worth it for the price, especially during the current Summer Sale.
I did have a single thing that I would like to see changed, although it is very minor and doesn't ruin the experience. During each level there is an animation prior to starting the level, I found these to be unskippable and after a few restarts of each level it can be mildly annoying.

It's not a bad game by any means. It's fun and charming, but it is also extremely click-intensive.
My biggest problem with this game is that you need to make hundreds of zombies to win, and you'll need to resurrect every. single. one of them individually. There is a tool you can get after a while which lets you resurrect 3 zombies at a time instead of 1, but it's still too tedious. I spend all my time running around ressurecting zombies instead of watching and enjoying my zombies killing the enemy! It would've been better to be able to ressurect all zombies in the vicinity, but with a tiny cooldown instead.
Other small annoyances with the game:
1) Some enemies (which look the same as the others) possess hidden rocket launchers that insta-kill you most of the time. There is no warning for this, and thus there is no way to dodge it. You die, and have to do the entire mission over again. Many times the rocket is even launched from off-screen. It's a weapon of pure luck and no skill on the players part.
2) The movement can be a bit bad sometimes. When you slash with your weapon, you can't move. Fair enough, but couple this with the fact that the machete has a tiny reach and many times you'll find yourself standing right next to the enemy and not hitting them. And since you can move while slashing, they'll just shoot you while there's nothing you can do.
Other than these things, it's a fun game, and I'll play more! I just thought I'd add some diversity to the otherwise only positive reviews.
