I was worried going in that this would be too thematically close to the white marches. And it kind of is! This is the third of the six total pillars dlcs that takes place in a tundra. But unlike the white marches, the area you're own feels so much less rich, less connected to the world you're in and the story, there's less side quests and smaller details that makes it work. The White Marches add a new area, a new act, this adds two new dungeons back to back. I will forever miss the way the map worked in Pillars 1. These dungeons are pretty good, though. The backgrounds for the temple of rime were a vast improvement to both the first game and deadfire, which I thought was a vast downgrade to the environmental design of the first game. The second dungeon in the beyond is messy and long and plagued with this stupid animation for activating things that they were really proud of, but it was still really enjoyable despite that. The Waidwen section was some of the best storytelling I think I've seen in an rpg and I wish the entire dlc was based around it. Have the watcher do something relating to the underdeveloped dawnstars faction, leads to bridge ablaze, etc etc. Would feel a lot more impactful than having randomly come across him in the beyond while hunting down some random dragon who is growing this iceberg you're on by a few inches every couple of weeks. The intrigue! 7/10 and like 2 of that is from the bridge ablaze

Few hours long, optional dlc for 15+ level characters, that takes place on a winter themed island inhabited by Rymrgand's cult. It brings a lot of insight into PoE's lore, which will be appreciated especially by players who have finished the first game (loved entire Bridge Ablaze quest), we get a few new powerful items (including soulbound items and trinkets), combat can be difficult at times. I see a lot of people complaining about puzzles, yes there are some, which isn't something common for the game but they are usually pretty easy and don't take much time. In general I fully recommend the DLC especially for people interested in game's lore.
