So many deaths due to ill though out movement controls. Incredibly frustrating to do basic platforming, which wasn't an issue in Legend or Anniversary.
Lost all interest after dying 20 times in a row just because Lara won't grab the ledge right in front of her,

While Legend is my all time favorite Tomb Raider game of all time. I was really frustrated and irritated with Anniversary. However the Croft Mansion extra mission from Anniversary was so soothing. I thought that Underworld will make me happy. But I found the ugliest Lara from Trilogy and uglier that original Lara Croft. Looks are everything when it comes to Lara. However, at least she had dressing sense in Underworld unlike the new explorer Lara. Now coming to game, it didn't let me enjoy Mexico. I mean it was raining, Lara was a nice Black Ducati, but throughout the mission we have to collect 50 Treasures and 1 Relic. I mean seriously? The sad part of this game is watching the Mansion being burned down. I mean developers will write and BS script that they can. I know they wanted to end the series as they didn't had the capability to create an awesome Lara, but writing BS should not be acceptable.
The best Tomb Raider forever for me will be Legend. Even Angel Of Darkness is better than these 2 (Anniversary and Underworld).
I wish I get my old Lara back, who is more famine with big ones, famine body, long legs, British accent, witty, smart, talented, independent, no love dove shove story, no family drama, no mom and dad story (has a happy family in the background), no cry baby, mature, rich, mysterious, who enjoys exploring tombs, who enjoys ancient way of life, who is a dream for every male student that she should have been the history teacher, who has really great and inspiration dressing sense, who can speak in all the languages around the world (unlike people these who enforce other people to speak in the local language)...
The other things which I hate about Underworld is the Music, especially in Mayan. Its not music, it sounds like loud noise. The music in this game is a joke.
Also the script writing is a joke in this game, I mean Zip or Sid whatever his name is. He is an employee of Lara, the way he pulls up the gun on Lara and the way he talks to Lara. I mean if I talk to my boss like that, he will kick my 🍑 instantly from the job, it doesn't matter how skilled I am. Lara is a person who don't take 💩 from anyone. I mean please do not create games just for the heck of it, and heck of earning money. You are wasting people's time and money.

Fun game, controls are just a bit iffy but doesn't take away from the experience too much, 8.5/10

Played this on Xbox 360 back in the day. The story continues from Tomb Raider: Legend and the graphics have slightly improved too. I personally enjoyed the underwater sections and it looked pretty good for its time.
This game is part of the initial rebooted series, but the core gameplay of Tomb Raider is maintained. Lots of puzzles, parkour, avoiding traps, and boss battles. Most of the gameplay is pretty simple and fairly straightforward.

The second Legend series entry I have finished and I must concede that I have mixed feelings on this one. The graphics were beautiful and the cutscenes were enjoyable, though the overall gameplay had me confused and, at certain points, frustrated. Ledge magnetization was inconsistent and caused me to die multiple times, and, while the open areas were a nice return to form, they were very labyrinthine at times. The puzzles were...mixed. The final showdown was fantastic, but the sheer amount of tedium I had to put up with just to get to that point made it feel more relieving than climactic.

Tomb Raider: Underworld is a solid game that will appeal to Lara Croft fans, but it doesn't quite match or surpass the experience of Tomb Raider: Legend. The game retains the fluid movement mechanics of its predecessor, allowing players to navigate environments with ease. It introduces new features like Situational Adrenaline, which replaces quick time events with a more instinctive reaction system, and refines combat by enabling Lara to target multiple enemies simultaneously and use sticky grenades for strategic gameplay.
Despite these improvements, the adrenaline system can make battles feel too easy, as players can quickly replenish their advantages. Additionally, the ability to access all weapons at any time diminishes the challenge of combat encounters. The "What Could Lara Do?" mechanic enhances interactions with the environment, allowing for more realistic exploration and non-linear levels with multiple puzzle solutions, supported by a sonar map and a Field Assistance feature for hints.
However, Underworld suffers from technical issues, including slowdown, texture pop-in, and clipping problems that disrupt gameplay. The camera is particularly problematic, often zooming and panning unexpectedly, which can make navigation frustrating.
Visually, the game impresses with its environments and animations, and the PC version offers sharper graphics and better control options. Unfortunately, the game is ultimately held back by its technical flaws, leaving it firmly in the shadow of Tomb Raider: Legend. While there was significant promise in the new mechanics, the execution fell short, making Underworld a good but not groundbreaking addition to the franchise.

Control are broken, camera is annoying and gaming with KB and mouse is extremely painful. A game pad will help but will not fix it completely but camera remains and issue. This game could have been a great game.

Initially excited to play but found out very quickly this game feeds you little to no information on where to go and what to do (the little device where Lara thinks aloud only says so much). In addition to poor direction, the controls felt terrible and inconsistent, even while on controller. Overall, lovely graphics but the gameplay took away my appreciation of the rest of the game.
