If you like acid trips and atmospheric gameplay this is the game for you! "Probably should stay away if you have some sort of Photosensitive epilepsy because it can get really crazy." All in all, the latest update fixed all problems I had with the game and I can finally recommend it. I'm looking forward to Episode 2. Also, I should mention you have to use some brain power. You might think you get stuck, but you are just not thinking hard enough.

well polished game that i'll keep playing, but just know it's got quite a slow pace, lots of slow uneccesary walking, and as others say it's a bit trippy. besides that, well polished game that i can recommend in a sale
Shaping up to be something special
Elea is a journey through the memories and fillings of a woman trying to reunite her family. All this is wrapped in an intriguing sci–fi setting, which is visually quite astonishing, considering it is an indie title made by a small team. If I have to put a genre etiquette on the game, “walking simulator” will suit it well, although don’t expect Elea to be playing itself. There are puzzles which are not a mere formality. Rather, kind of like in a classic point and click adventure game, in order to fully enjoy yourself, you have to be in the mentality of tinkering and experimenting with the environment around you (which admittedly can sometimes hinders the game’s flow). Speaking of environment I rather enjoy the hardish sci–fi world of Elea but what made impression on me are the characters. Their relations often seem not to be very straightforward. At this point it is quite sublet, more of a promise, but I really hope the mature themes and story element will manifest themselves in the sequential episodes. A few words about the early accesses. The game is very clearly a passion project of a small team. As such it has it rough edges, both in the side of bugs as well as not completely streamlined gameplay elements. The team however does frequent update and is on the watch in the forums for any feedback you can provide. So, if you are into engaging in conversation with the developers, and seeing how the game evolves and is shaped by the feedback, this is a perfect opportunity. If not, however I would recommend to wait for the official release as I’m sure that after a couple of updates it will be a smoother experience.

Positive: You can finish it in 1 hour Graphic looks nice Medicare: Story-line Voice-acting Negative: Clumsy game play, Not working correctly triggers for scripts - example I needed several times visit this same room before story can progress. Bugs - most annoying character can lock itself when opening cabinet or passing by hatch. Final word: I disappointed on trailer looks interesting but not worthy even when on sale.

ELEA obviously is a walking simulator game in which you relive the experiences of the main heroine in her home and on a space station. The beginning is a bit slow, but later in the game the pacing is fine. One negative thing is the length of only 2 hours. Though for me it was worth the playthrough. Pros - A great story – you have to invest time in reading notes to fully understand what is going on. - Beautiful visuals and lighting. - Good sound design. Cons - Slow walking at the beginning of the game. - A frustrating cliffhanger ending. - Short – you can finish it for about 2 hours.

I'd be willing to excuse most of where the game fails with its slow walking, wacky controls and sometimes just outright broken mechanics for the story, except that even there it falls flat as it leaves you wondering what the hell is going on and why. So, summed up it leaves me little to no reason to want to continue to play the game, so for now I'll refund and maybe come back to it in the future.

Decent game, Depth of field is overused and examining objects tanked my framerate with a 2080ti @ 4k. no way to turn it down as it's grouped into post processing object. luckly as an UE game you can VIA config file. Interesting SCIFI walking simulator, I enjoyed my time with it. Looks very pretty.

Elea's Episode I is, in more ways than one, all over the place. Its skilfully created sci-fi setting and engrossing story arc work perfectly together, and you are eventually lead to a cliffhanger that leaves you wanting more of it. Sadly, the protagonist is afflicted by unsteady movement and her ability to interact with items is often dependent on the player finding a suitable camera angle. That, added to the almost inexistent interface, the unreliable save system and the second-rate audio mixing and voiceovers, truly hinders the overall experience, particularly for a pseudo-walking simulator. Elea's scope feels too ambitious, and the result is a downgraded version of what could have been a genuinely promising game.

This game is really not for everyone - if you appreciate great visuals and a bit of digging to understand the compelling story, then it's for you. Main complaints from reviews so far seem to be slow movement at the beginning and the psychedelic art, which I personally don't have a problem with. The sound design and music score are lovely, the visuals are with awesome quality and the voice acting is fine. If you are into slow-paced story games, this is a great one for you!

Elea has a fun sci-fi story premise. The “childhood disease” discussed in the game summary isn’t a disease like you think of illnesses, and brings up all sorts of twisted images, including the quizzes about how many 5-year olds you can take in a fight. You can read the game summary and watch the trailer for other story details. The graphics are very nice and controls are good and easy to use for navigation. So what’s the problem? In my opinion, the developers couldn’t decide what kind of game they wanted to make, so gameplay is all over the place and it doesn’t do any genre exceptionally well. Walking sim? That would be boring, right? So the devs make you explore in the dark with the worst flashlight ever. Technology in flashlights apparently have degenerated greatly in the future. This aspect made me just want to get it over with rather than explore the house (say goodbye to those achievements). Once you’re aboard ship you have lights, but you can only go into certain places and I didn’t feel like the story was flushed out enough from the places I could go. Action? Can’t have a game without it apparently. But they toss that aspect at the end with one timed chase sequence. It was okay, but action players I'm guessing will think – that’s it? Non-action players will ask – did you have to do that at the end? Adventure/Puzzles? Nothing challenging. There are a few tasks to complete and puzzling out of things to advance in the game. It was okay, but on the level of a walking sim kind of challenge and not a hardcore adventure game challenge. This isn’t a horrible game by any means, I just think it lacks focus on what kind of game it wants to be and so I can’t really recommend it.
