I tried to enjoy the game but the damage calculation is impossible to figure out... sometimes it almost seems like there's some bug

One of THOSE tactics games. You know, the ones that start off with asking you braindead questions like "what's the color of your hat", decide what stats you gain based on that, explain nothing, then drop you into a series of battles following a cookie-cutter fantasy story. Oh, about these battles, only half the systems get a brief explanation - good luck figuring out if "holy" units are strong against flying or if it's better to send swordsmen. After all, all your bowmen got absolutely wrecked by the enemy cavalry. The easiest mode is of course "normal" which means "you better makes sure to autistically obsess over stats and save each turn on a separate slot since you WILL have to backtrack three chapters to hope to survive once you find out that one unit that is crucial later was underleveled lol" Not sure what japanese mobile only or 80s console shovelware all these "tactics" games like this one base on but it's clear they are ripping something off. Probably something that is now being "localized" by a team of fat, sterile, rainbow-flag wearing, blue-haired "non-binary" "women" and turned into a shadow of its former self. If my guess is right, and the tactics games this one is ripping off work just like this one - good riddance, may they die. -14/69 - would rather beat myself with a bat

很用心制作的游戏,梦战粉必玩。希望制作组能在设定中加入更多人性化选项,比如只略过敌方行动战斗动画,再比如加入小兵跟随的AI选项(倾向防御,倾向移动,倾向攻击等)。

For any Langrisser fans, this is feels like a more faithful sequel to the franchise than the DS game or the Langrisser 1/2 Remake. Gameplay, visuals, music and multiple routes feel really close to these classic games. There were a few errors in the English translation, especially in the last stages, but nothing really serious. Overall I recommend it for anyone who loved Langrisser (Warsong) and Langrisser 2/Der Langrisser.

A perfect current generation game for Warsong/Langriser lovers (first 2 installments). Very similar but just a hair different to give you a fresh feeling. Some quality of life feature like a mouse that works for most of the features and does speed up the gameplay. Keys cannot be rebind in game, but there are a few options in the menue about other stuff. Story good in my opinion. There are some reveals some hints of about relations, with the usual in youre face anime style comments on how you should feel at the dramatic moments. It seems there are multiple ways to twist the story and I don't know but it really hints that you can actually affect the gameplay aswell, like what side you are ending up, who joins you, who gets killed etc, that opens up just as many paths and replay value then how deep the class tree felt like. It really has a ton of classes and you can really twist it up, Like dip into magic but double back to melee to make some really sick endgame gods. I know I fucked up most choices but i just picked what I felt is cool and needed in the party, and actually ended up having a char that is legit stronger then the last boss (both units and stats and could solo one v one with hero v hero). Items are really versatile and you can really make up for some missing synergy or really push for a special hero you dreamed up and you have to think real hard what to buy or you recruit instead, i think the economy was just right. Of course the more skilled you are the better you can get rewards for playing good nicely implemented. There are the usuall on map secrets and it always tell you how many there are but it is absolutelly not always obvious how to get them. It seems some can only be get if you have an item or specific character on it, and it hints you for it. I missed like at least half of all secrets and i was looking for them and they are HUGE stuff really helpfull if you can nail them. There are 20 maps, i clocked in around 52 hours finishing it, on normal it was perfectly challanging all the way. Ended up maxing out my last char on the last map, and i played Warsong/langriser 1-2 trough 4-5 times at least so I wasnt sucking around. Many hundred of percent worth the money for anyone who loves this very specific style of tactics game. Maps are quite mixed to stay fresh, enemies not as spreaded, they are different versions of the same unit to keep the rock paper scisor wierd thing omg its flying wtf that cast range aoe yeah but they mix up into combinations and with the maps so every single map is a unique feel. The music is very amped up and i think its a good choice since the game is very methodical and slow paced so the 2 help each other out so you never feel bored, but its not distracting either cuz i actually liked it personally. I found like 1 translations error where the text should have been big, and like 2-3 grammar thing really. Game screen froze at one part multiple occasion but after that part never again. The game itself ran you just didnt know whats happening. A simple save and reload fixed it, ofc i had to save blindly but i done so much its just muscle memory. Comparing items in shop and on youre party is difficult you have to memorize a lot of values and some of them are not shown on character sheet, but is marked on the item itself that makes it a bit harder to know what you actually need. (like magic deffense, cast range etc). I coulldnt find any BIG boss, like the dragon or ragnaros like thing from warsong, and the other unique enemies like golems, slimes etc wasnt there, and sometimes you can gain so many levels you might not use some class specific units since you alraedy got theire upgraded version. The sound OMG it can really be annoying. Typical western, where literally everything gives out a bip or a boop or a ping and a ching so buckle up if you wanna click on pretty much anything and some spell sounds are ear rapey. Some situations felt like i couldnt really do much just wait till the enemy gets out of mana, im not 100% sold on the magic side of things. It looked like some spells were quite redundant and only applied if you played the game very differently then how I did. Also you can really brick youre chars and maybe the entire run if youre not on youre balls and have a firm grip of youre team, cuz some class routes have A LOT of redundant parts, like i had multiple chars where i got the same spell from different classes on the same char several times and was just narrowly pulled out a win because of that. Seemed some story options only open up if you got the proper char for it, and the late game maps have some super counters, where if you dont have what you need there, then it can maybe get to the poiint that it ends youre run like 30+ hours into the game. ON NORMAL difficulty which is the lowest, there is 2 more above that, but i dont think thats a bad thing i like games like this like Xenonauts. All and all i hope i get more games like this from this developer who totally gets what was good in the first 2 Warsong/langriser games. Recommend!

When the game has more elements of Masaya/ NCS than the Langrisser titles that were made in the past 2 decades...it makes you wonder if this is a spiritual successor. As with other reviews, you would have guessed that 眼中的世界 - Conviction - draws alot of inspiration from Der Langrisser. Things you can do: Promote commanders at every Lv10. The troops offered with each class can be used in the next class change, a Cavalry commander may be able to employ Flying units. Learn summons and command 1 cavalry with lancers or various other combination. Summons behave exactly like a powered-up form of troop. You will always get to the final class at max level in the final chapter if you try not to kill the enemy troops before the commander. You can increase stats or find silver/ treasures from treasure tiles. Remote buff/ heal a unit. There are spells that work based on casting on 1 member of a unit, just like in SNES Langrisser. Force heal comes to mind right? You can do optional tasks within scenario to protect NPC which may end up rewarding you with rare items. You can shop for items and some of the rare items are presented as shop exclusive which you will get to buy many copies depending on how well you save and manage silver. You can get secret summon and unit using items from secret tiles, just like in Langrisser 4. You get rewarded for deploying troops and having deployed troops surviving. The commander's bonus stat to the troops will increase just as in Der Langrisser. You can turn a commander into a class which behaves like a one-man unit of archery like those Hi-master in Der Langrisser. Your spells get bonuses and upgrade from class change modifier and equipment. Fireball from a sorceror is not going to be same as fireball from a Sage or Summoner. You will always want dedicated mages for magic instead of a fighter that casts offensive spells. You can promote to any class without consideration and still clear the game without accessing the hidden classes. Those were later added and are not needed to make the game easier. But your strategy is going to change depending on your class change. Sea unit is good in this game, doesn't suffer huge penalty on land terrain. You can finally use archers and ballista in this game, they are useful and in fact I have used a whole army of ranged units with buffs/ spells in the final chapter. You can equip mage equipment before class change from magic to melee class. Things you can't do: Can't teleport, buff magic resistance with spells. Can't debuff, charm or silence enemy. Can't employ 2 different type of troops within a unit Can't equip a Masaya sword to gain more experience Can't level select Can't upload screenshot to steamcloud even if you could take them with P button. Can't equip a runestone and turn into a starting class to class change all over. Can't get equipment to drop by defeating enemy. Can't have a melee class perform like a spell caster even if you have Meteor/ Tornado. Can't have OP starting hero that will nuke everything from Chapter 1 onwards. everyone is balanced. Can't fight muscle man in a shrine. The game is now in early access. A total of 4 different route were planned and the current version has 1 route which is the light route fully completed. The things you are able to do are very characteristic of Langrisser, while the things you can't do aren't really that important. The difficulty is achieved by enemy placement and stat balancing. Whatever cheesy tactics you have used in Langrisser is going to haunt you here, most of them. Losing troops is almost inevitable, especially in the first 3/4 of the game. And the music is unlike what is heard from games made with RPGmakers, they put in effort in their BGM instead of just pasting a midi file. I've summarised almost everything about the game in the guide section, be sure to use it or share with someone who is stuck from the difficulty. This is my experience with playing Hard Mode for the past 6 times. As for the initial English translation, it didn't make sense at the start of EA when I was playing it in Feb 2020. A/B route was eventually polished. I took on the role of translating C/D route in Feb 2021.

This game is like Langrisser in every way. The plot seems okay so far. But, it's just too difficult for me even on the lowest difficulty. The problem is that the victory conditions change at the drop of a hat. Two levels in a row I had to replay the entire level because I had positioned myself in a way that made me lose once the enemies changed who they were targeting or new enemies appeared without expecting me them. It would be one thing if I knew ahead of time but since you have to farm enemy solders to get experience (as there's no way to go back to old levels or do side missions) the levels are all very long. When they change what your objective is you lose hours of play time. This isn't a new thing, Langrisser is like that too. On a side note, the achievements were all triggering randomly without me having completed the actual condition on them. The graphics and sound are also pretty lacklustre, the plot is pretty average. I could have dealt with all that if the level design wasn't so frustrating. Edit: It shows how much I wanted to like this game and how fun the base mechanics are that I played for an additional 4 hours after posting that review. But the problems only get worse. If you have to rush through levels or kill commanders and not just troops just to survive levels or if your leaders die you won't get as much XP and the levels will just keep getting harder. Once about halfway through the game all the enemies were in their advanced classes and had advanced troops it was pretty much impossible for me when I wasn't. The hit everyone on screen for 20% of their hit point mages and extreme range catapult especially who could one shot anyone were especially vicious. I'm just going to have to go back and play Langrisser 1&2 remake since that has a way to go back to old levels and grind experience. If this game had this I'd play a lot of it. Instead, I have to give up.

If you like Warsong/Langrisser. 1 or 2 or both then this is the game you have waited 20 years for. Can't wait for the full game to release. The combat is the same, the map is squared, you still hire units you control with commanders. This is more Langrisser then the new Langrisser remake coming this month. And for english fans this game has full english dialogue so no worries you can play it now and it is in english.
