A wealth of additions: 7 historical missions (5 in SP), units, aces for an already bulging-at-the-seams WWII RTT wargame. Yes, it is on the expensive side for many with regional currency conversion ($21.50 for us Aussies, more for Kiwis) but with it's content it is well worth it.
Of course you need to enjoy the main game, a solid departure in many ways from the "Wargame" franchise while keeping it's basic nature, but if you can get the whole package on sale it is well worth it. Then again, if you are as invested in the franchise as myself and many since "R.U.S.E." introduced us to the concept of MP-focused RTT gaming even in it's SP component you'll already own this.
For those who don't...do yourselves a favour!

It expands the single player quite a bit which is a welcomed addition as its actually pretty fun; I don't often find AI all to engaging in strategy games, but this one is competent. The new units are all pretty fun and iconic from the war. They allow some pretty interesting tactics like the SSD unit I call my "special tactics" deck, a SC2 reference.

New divisions are really nice and interesting even though my first glance was: 'meh'. But the dlc is not only about divs, it is about something more interesting... SCENARIOS! I enjoy them as hell. You need to plan carefuly with your buddy and coopearte really tight with each other cuz it is almost impossible to secure objectives just on your own. LOVE IT!

The new missions are very cool, and the new divisions have somehow managed to stand out yet again.
The missions give you a pre set, fully historical battlegroup and can be played in any combination of player and computer. The AI is especially good in these new missions, clearly custom programmed.

tldr : This is awesome! If you buy Steel Division this DLC is mandatory if you love single player content!
The single player oriented content is challenging, entertaining and based on historical battles. The scenarios range from 1v1 skirmishes to 3v3 crazy fucking brawls. Really showcases the best elements of this game!
The MP content is four divisions + a major balance patch that has improved a number of complaints. Two armored and two infantry divisions were added. My favorite by far is the French Demi-Brigade SAS which is a mix of stolen German and French kit, British equipped French commandos and American armored division. It is a fucking awesome flavor bomb. This division even has freaking fancy 1930s cars for the commander! Top fucking tier! The other noteworthy division is Festung Gross Paris which is also a grab bag force. It's got fucking Dewoitine fighters, Russian Infantry (complete with that sexy sexy PPSH), French tanks, Tigers, elderly Germans, all kinds of crazy stuff. Oh and you can also play as the Desert Rats and 2nd Weiner Division so that's a thing too.
My experience of the game right now indicates that Eugen have finally hit the sweet spot between things needing to fucking die and things needing to live long enough for the player to actually, you know, have time to notice and pull them back. So balance patch is a huge success.
This is awesome. I had been on the fence with this game for a while, but this DLC really turned me around. Way to go Eugen!

I liked the last DLC, and this one is even better. Steel Division is far from perfect as a game, but fills a nice niche as medium-large WW2 rts that is very similar to the wargame series (no surprise as they made this game). In similar vein to the last DLC, we get 4 new divisions, 2 allied, 2 axis, that are a bit wackier than the game's eighteen launch divisions.
We get the SS Demi-Brigade, an incredibly fun and flavorful division that is a mix of french resistance fighters, British SAS, and American ground forces. We also get the Festung Gross-Paris, another flavorful and unique division that is comprised of Kreigsmarine ground forces, Luftwaffe ground forces, Soviet defectors, and penal betallions. They also get to use the comically large 600mm (yeah) karl mortar via a recon plane.
The British Desert Rats and German 2nd Panzer Divisions are a little less extreme or spicy as the aforementioned two divisions, but they each bring a few never before seen units to the table, and succeed in being playable, yet not over-powered divisions in their own right, showing Eugen's consistent improvement in their division design since the game's launch.
If you have Steel Division and still like playing it, and especially if you liked the 2nd Wave DLC, you're probably going to like this one, too. Here's hoping that this game succeeds, as I'd very much like it to.

I have had a slighty love/hate relationship with this game since day one but with this new dlc and the update that the developers placed into the game workings yesterday, most notably, unless my ears deceive me, a fantastic sound upgrade, most of the following review is positive. The reasons the game has suddenly taken on a new life are:-
1..The larger number of divisions is now making the entire experience more enjoyable. The number of new vehicles and personnel units. including quite rare vehicles that were sometimes unique to individual divisions, are much appreciated, especially anti air units for the Hitler Jugend SS Division and Citroen cars for the Maquis (French Resistance) in the new dlc. I also love the SAS jeeps with the HMG mounts and the Maquis AA lorry. I can again happily spend hours creating new battlegroups so thanks.
2..Yesterday I could not believe my ears when a mark III, yes only a Panzer III, let out a throaty roar as it trundled across a field. Moments later the very distinct sound of a nearby Browning HMG rattled away from a wood where I had hidden an MG team. Cannot wait to hear a Tiger tank. The tanks and guns now sound realistic and can be clearly distinguished from one another so find time to macro down to ground level and open your ears during the game. As a very sad military history nut I really appreciate the upgardes in the game. The crack of 88mm shells exploding into black flak clouds next to my bombers have also taken on a new life so thanks to the developers.
All in all the game is improving slowly but surely. I have not played online multiplayer so cannot comment on that but as someone who generally plays the AI in the skirmish mode this is far superior to the product as it was on release day.
Worth a gamble if you are into WW2 and armoured warfare in particular.

Good DLC, many more missions to play in multiplayer with preset divisions.
The new divisions each bring fresh new units and playstyle. The units are themselves solid and bring new tactical options. Players who like veterancy on their units will be happy with this DLC.
The historical missions bring a fresh multiplayer mode where team with preset decks need to synergise and find the right strategy to win.
New divisions and units
Allies Desert Rats for instance get phase B napalm mosqito, flamethrower teams in wasp, napalm mosquito pathfinder in B.
FFI get a phase A jagdpanzer (giving a match to the axis beute firefly) but stand out by the many new flavored units in each tab. It's clear they put some work in creating this 'story driven' division and you really feel it through the phases.
Axis also get many new units in both the 2. Panzer and Festung Gross Paris:
Recon tanks (panther D, pumas and panzer IV), the sturmgrenadiers (15 HE 200m range inf with smoke and AT), flak 38 aa with a gepard aa as transport, phase A JU 88S, 2 cards of 2 star recon FW with 750km/h speed, off map smoke, Borgward IV (remote controlled 500kg bomb, 2 front armor, 88km/h on road that can't get suppressed), a beo storch that call the 'Karl Gerät' 600mm off map (3 rounds of 168m 50 HE !!!) and much more...

As always, Vulcan has done video previews that showcase the units better than I could describe, I highly recommand you check his battlegroup overviews (look for Back to Hell DLC at the end of the list)
New Historical Battles
After playing the historical battles a few times, I think this is a must.
Not only does it add 4 great divisions and units to multiplayer, it adds the historical battles to play in multiplayer with predifined divisions.
These 7 missions allow to play different roles in the team, as both team have to balance their attack and defense using preset decks. The objectives are spread around the map and you will have to figure out the right strategy and work as a team.
Fun against an AI opponent, it is in multiplayer that the brillance of the concept reveals itself. The historical battles allow to focus on the strategy rather than optimising your deck as you have to work with what units are available.
Ending comment
Nice to have a game where one can learn so much about history as much effort has been done on research. I am enjoying discovering new divisions, their units and what roles they played.
Well done Eugen :D
