Anime variant of Tetris, bought this on sale, was not worth the money regardless. Seemingly survives on the typical cute anime girl voices and expressions. Storymode was very bland and the tutorial seemed designed for controlpad users and explained to you as if you was a mere child.

This game is a really bad knock-off of Puyo Puyo. I spent like 20 minutes on the first stage and neither of us was winning.

Well is a casual game.. and actually very hard.. being more hard in normal than in very hard. Basicly this game ask you plan all your moves is not about clear the board is about do combos.. and actually bigger combo .. better for a lot.. and that is actually what make normal more hard than very hard. On normal IA play not so risky.. that is will try do low combos and stay low.. why is that a bad thing.. well cause you will have to try risk and do big combos.. and then you can lose in the form you win on very hard.. that is prepare a low combo and then wait for when cup is high.. you will block all her attacks and if its too high will lose.. still its not a sure win cause if she survive you will lose by her high combo. PD: training.. help but not for a lot.. start on very hard and see how IA play

Such a lazy release. The tutorial only displays gamepad controls, and it's not at all obvious that you have to press Z (why?!) in order to progress from the win/lose screen after a match. There doesn't seem to be any way to get back to the title screen either. There's no point in the story mode since it's been either machine translated, or translated by someone with a very tenuous grasp of English. The gameplay is pretty standard Tetris/Puyo Puyo stuff, which I enjoy, but I have no desire to keep playing because of the poor quality.

Happiness Drops is a great puyo puyo like game with a great aesthetic and a strong core foundation. I've played through the story with one character so far and plan to keep on playing. I highly recommend it if you're into puzzle games or puyo puyo. https://youtu.be/hROro8l4d9A

Magical girl Puyo Puyo which would run well on a low-end computer and is actually good despite being related to the blandest and most boderline stereotypical anime I've ever seen. The English translation is awful ( and probably only there to broaden the audience because steam) but the original Japanese is a language option it seems like no trouble there so far if you're willing to tackle it armed with grammar knowledge and the ability to look up kanji (all lines in the dialogue scenes have both text and voice). Very low budget, very arcade-like, and very cute. Tama-chan is the best mascot ever because I am like 5.

The art is cute. I don't regret trying this. But if you like to have fun when you play a game, then this is not for you. The gameplay is pure boredom. Nothing ever happens; you just keep making combos by putting three of the same colour together in pretty much any pattern, and the computer does the same, and since nothing happens, nobody ever loses, ever, for a hundred million years. You would expect unbalanced, badly paced, slow and boring gameplay from a lesser quality fanservice H-Game, but this is an innocent vanilla game, with very pretty art, very annoying music, and somniferous repetition that passes for gameplay. I wasn't expecting the genius of Puzzle Fighter 2X, Bust a Move 4 or Puyo Champions, or the personality of Huniepop; I was expecting a stupid but fun, relaxing indie game with cute art to waste a few minutes. And I still left disappointed. And yet, sadly, I kind of want to play another round every time I spend half an hour with three-line-high screens of jewels and choose to exit the game because it's so boring. It's "what the hell am I doing with my life" boring. It's "I should just organise my sock drawer or lie down and look at the ceiling for 40 minutes" boring. This is the kind of game that would be boring even if you played it while high, or betting your clothes or something. It might cure insomnia. So, if it were possible, I would make it a neutral review from me. Since it is not, it can eat a thumbs down.

Giving this game a slight pass only because its a throwaway game for fans of the "Happiness!" franchise and its low price tag. It's about as basic as a drop-style puzzle game can get in this day and age where you connect three of the same object to eliminate it from the playing field. As you are attacked or eliminate junk, you raise your special (magic) meter and when it's full, you can unleash an ability unique to each of the game's five main characters to turn the tables. The one slightly notable trait is that when a character pulls off a large combo, junk is dropped "in waves", and the closer you are to defeat, the more your special meter scales in an attempt to help you make a comeback. As such, there is a strong counter element to the game. Reading the other reviews, I thought I was playing a completely different game as this title is ridiculously easy for the most part due to its match-three system and limited amount of drops and I'm not a professional puzzle game enthusiast (I've played many puzzlers over the years, but I'd get curb stomped on the higher levels of more difficult games like Puyo Puyo, Puzzle Bobble, etc.). At any rate, the graphics are serviceable with some nice illustrations and the music is decent too. The translation is arguably worse than a machine translation these days, but it's not like the game has a sweeping narrative in the first place. Don't like Happiness? Don't like puzzle games? Then this isn't the game for you. More Windmill (Oasis) / ARES titles need to be released on Steam. Edit 1: Can't seem to unlock Super Easy to get the acheivement or the 20+ victories in Endless Mode. Edit 2: Will attach gameplay to illustrate the ease in playing this game.
